Marlboro wants to sponsor Valentino Rossi in Yamaha?

Marlboro (Phillip Morris) , Valentino Rossi and Yamaha. Put these three word together and and you’ve got the latest and the juiciest rumor of the 2013 silly season (even better than the previous one, Coca Cola, Rossi and Yamaha), but Spanish website motocuatro.com is reporting it, so we are you giving the lowdown.
Apparently not-so secret meetings were held during the Mugello GP between Marlboro’s Global Communication & Promotion Vice-President Maurizio Arrivabene (the same guy who said that Casey Stoner should apologize back in 2009 after disappearing for a few races due to illness, which probably was the principal reason why the Australian quit Ducati and then moved to Honda) who met with Rossi (apparently they are also long time friends) on Friday evening and on Saturday, the Marlboro Man met with Dorna’s CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta for a couple hours.
The only topic discussed was the future of the former World champion and the possibility of finding him a competitive ride for 2013 that will at least let him fight for wins, with Marlboro supposedly raising the possibility that they could once again to be Yamaha’s sponsor if Rossi get’s a factory ride (Yamaha has been without an title sponsor since Rossi left) alongside Jorge Lorenzo (Lin Jarvis doesn’t need his former rider, but the extra budget …).
Rossi has reiterated several times that he wants to stay with Ducati and seemed to be slightly more positive after meeting with Audi’s CEO Rupert Stadler at Sachsenring where they briefly discussed the ambitious project and what they could eventually come up with in terms of guarantees for the Italian.
If the rumor should be true - Davide Brivio has denied that his client is in talks with Yamaha - Ducati could find itself without the biggest and most important sponsor they’ve had since they debuted in GP racing in 2003 and Audi finding itself having to pull out wads of cash to fund their MotoGP effort in 2013.

in the cockpit. eye-level driver cam. formula 1

Ever wondered what it’s like to drive a Formula 1 car? It’s a luxury afforded only to the very talented, the very lucky or the every wealthy. But the rest of us might like a glimpse of what it’s like to drive the world’s most advanced racing cars, thanks to this video fromPirelli F1 test driver Lucas di Grassi.
Join him as he goes on an exploratory lap of the iconic Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, as part of his work developing tyres for F1. He’s wearing a new eye-level camera that puts us as close to the action as most of us are likely to ever get.

    tribute to Marco Simoncelli

Italian motorcycle group Traersù decided to pay tribute to the late Marco Simoncelli with this very moving video that includes a ‘minute of casino’ (noise or chaos) that Paolo Simoncellihad asked for during the Valencia GP.
Over 300 bikers from around Italy showed up for the event that took over two hours to prepare and film and this is the result of their eulogy, which after watching you’ll no doubt sayDiobò che bello!
The video will be given to the Marco Simoncelli Foundation with hope that it will raise awareness regarding the charity work that the foundation does.

Land Rover has revealed a new special edition of the Defender, known as the XTech. It’s the successor to a previous special version of the 2011-model Defender, and adds various cosmetic appendages to boost the urban chic appeal of the rugged Landie even further. It’s based on the 2012MY Defender, so retains the cleaner, more modern 2.2-litre diesel engine. Giving the XTech Defender a brawny but understated look are the two colour options: Orkney Grey, or a new colour exclusive to the special edition Defender, Nara Bronze.
