Gangnam Style and motorcycles parody video
If you’ve never seem South Korean Pys ‘Gangnam Style’ video then you’ve been living in a cave with out electricity in these last months. ‘Gangnam Style’ is the most clicked video in YouTube (the original video has over 412 million viewers) as it raced across the social networks and naturally dozens and dozens of PSY parodies have also the hit the web.
Sylvain Barrier 2012 Superstock 1000 FIM Cup Champion
Max Biaggi was not the only rider to claim his crown at Magny Cours last sunday: with a comfortable second place behind fellow countryman Jeremy Guarnoni (Kawasaki MRS), local hero Sylvain Barrier (BMW Motorrad Italia GoldBet) conquered the 2012 Superstock 1000 FIM Cup in front of an ecstatic French crowd. Italy’s Lorenzo Savadori (Ducati Barni Racing Team Italia) prevented Luissana (Kawasaki Team ASPI) from completing an all French podium, but there’s no doubt everyone was just pleased enough with the title clinched by the 23 years old from Oyonnax.
Entering the last round of the season, Barrier had already collected 4 wins with 2 second places, and yet he was just 3 points ahead of Italy’s Eddi La Marra, who had just one win under his belt but had been extremely consistent throughout the season with its debutingDucati 1199 Panigale. On Saturday Barrier earned himself the pole position right in front of his main rival, but just a few corners into the race on Sunday the Ducati man slipped out of the race with the third remote contender for the title, Bryan Staring from Australia (who was 22 points behind Barrier before the race) doing exactly the same.
That meant title in the bag for Barrier, who could quietly cruise toward the chequered flag leaving rabid Guarnoni taking all the risks on the wet tarmac and the first spot on the podium (as well as the third place in the standings). “I still cannot realize the fact that I have won the title - said Barrier - The hard work with the team throughout the whole year has paid off, and I have to thank the team, my family, James, the Clinica Mobile guys and all those who have helped me and have been close to me during this fantastic season. The race was tough and long but I was already feeling comfortable with the bike since the warm-up in the morning. In the first two laps I kept it quiet because the rear tire was struggling to reach the proper temperature, and also because La Marra and Staring were already out of it. I just tried to maintain the gap on the group that was chasing me, without pushing too hard and allowing the tires to work at their best until the checkered flag. It has been a fabulous weekend and I’m incredibly happy.”

Sébastien Loeb : mais pourquoi les exploits du nonuple champion du monde passent-ils quasi inaperçus ?
Neuf titres mondiaux consécutifs… Personne, dans aucun sport n'est arrivé à réaliser une telle performance. Pourtant, Sébastien Loeb, à nouveau sacré champion du monde de rallye dimanche, pâtit du manque de médiatisation de son sport, rarement télévisé.
La preuve par neuf… Cette bonne vieille méthode mathématique pour laquelle tous les plus de vingt ans ont usé leurs fond de culotte et leurs neurones sur les bancs de l’école nous est revenue en plein visage aujourd’hui par le biais d’un Champion (avec un C majuscule) hors du commun. On aurait légitimement pu espérer un plus grand battage médiatique puisque ce Champion est français est devenu Champion du Monde des rallyes avec son co-pilote, le monégasque Daniel Elena, pour la neuvième fois consécutive sur une voiture française puisque ses neuf titres ont été remportés sur des Citroën Xsara, C4 et DS3.
Neuf titres mondiaux consécutifs…Personne, dans aucun sport n’est arrivé à réaliser une telle performance, excepté Sébastien Loeb depuis ce jour et inutile de dire qu’il a bien choisi tant le lieu que le moment puisqu’il s’est imposé chez lui, au rallye d’Alsace et, cerise sur le gâteau, dans sa ville natale de Haguenau.
Neuf titres mondiaux consécutifs…Une telle performance aurait fait rêver Michaël Schumacher, Alain Prost ou, dans les étoiles, Juan Manuel Fangio ou Ayrton Senna.Avec ses cinq titres consécutifs et ses sept titres en tout en Formule 1, Michaël Schumacher semble définitivement intouchable dans l’épreuve reine des circuits tandis que Sébastien Loeb avec ses neuf titres de rang dans l’épreuve reine sur piste ne pourra certainement être battu que par un extraterrestre ramené de Mars ou d’une autre planète.
Sébastien Loeb aura tout gagné dans sa carrière : tous les rallyes, tous les titres, sur toutes les surfaces. Des routes enneigées aux sables du désert, des forêts de scandinavie aux routes alsaciennes, rien ne lui aura résisté. Il aura même fini second aux 24 heures du Mans, preuve que l’alsacien a de nombreuses cordes à son arc et pourrait bien se reconvertir dans les épreuves sur circuit, son arrêt des rallyes étant désormais officiel.
Cependant, on peut légitimement regretter le peu de battage médiatique pour ce sport dans lequel un français rafle tout depuis une décennie, les rallyes n’étant jamais, contrairement aux Grand Prix de Formule 1, télévisés. Ceci est d’autant plus regrettable que, dans le même temps, c’est un constructeur français, Citroën, qui fait partie d’un groupe traversant une période difficile, qui triomphe dans le monde entier dans un silence médiatique assourdissant.
