Lana Del Rey - Burning Desire Official Music Video, featuring the Jaguar F-TYPE

Jaguar is proud to present the music video for 'Burning Desire' by Brit Award nominee Lana Del Rey, featuring the all-new Jaguar F-TYPE.

    1972 BSA A65 Lightning bobber

Everyone should have a hobby. Something removed from everyday employment in order to keep one’s sanity. Today’s feature bike is a result of keeping work and play separate, of escapism of the best kind, that of custom motorcycle building. A civil engineer by trade, Aaron Rubio’s true passion is building and riding custom bikes, which he tries his hardest to be able to do at least once a week. Recent comments about a BSA and electrical wiring prompted Aaron to send pics of his 1972 BSA A65 Lightning bobber into Pipeburn, to show solidarity in not having every little aspect of your bike perfectly tucked away and looking neat. In Aaron’s own words "I do believe clean wiring has it’s place, but exposed wiring helps define the soul of a bike". True, and we love this bike for all it’s touches, exposed wiring and all.

Aaron’s bike had already begun to be modified by the time he got it, the previous owner hardtailing the rear end. On top of this custom rear there sits a vintage Harley front fender, as Aaron says ‘with 40 years of rust and three layers of paint all showing beautifully’. Flashes of red break up the dark aesthetic of the Beeza, the Ballistic battery, fuel lines and spark plug leads standing out. To top off the red highlights, the chain tensioner is now a custom skateboard wheel setup.

Aaron decided to stick with British marques, choosing a Triumph fuel tank to replace the original unit. It has been sanded and clearcoated, flanked either side by brand new brass BSA badges that have been painted black, and distressed to fit in with the patina of the bike. Sitting proud next to the fuel tank is a vintage Smith & Wesson pistol group, mounted on the custom suicide shift Aaron fashioned from tube he found in his backyard. In keeping with the weaponry theme of the shifter, a munitions round has been cut down and mounted on the kickstart lever, adding to the awesome this bike possesses.

This BSA bobber is low-slung, metallic and mean. It’s rough finish shows it’s there to be ridden, not to be hauled around on a trailer. Red highlights, put up against the brass touches of the stoplamp, seat springs and battery belt hold down, all work together with the dark aura the bike produces. It’s not meant to be pretty, and it shows that Aaron’s hobby is far removed from his everyday employment, cos you would hope the finish on the railway bridges he designs isn’t as rough. And all this from someone who has only been customising bikes for the past two years now. I’ll leave the last word to Aaron: "I wanted my bike to look like it could take a beating, that it could be ridden hard and put away wet… not some primadonna bike you would be scared to get a water spot on".

Dacia Duster turned into a limo

    Dacia Duster Limo
A group consisting of 23 masters students in Romania have decided to turn a Dacia Duster SUV into a stretched limo. The transformation took four months to complete and this one-off vehicle represents a project car for the Renault Technologie Roumanie program. Call me biased, but this Duster limo doesn't look half bad.
     Dacia Duster Limo
Anyway, the Duster's chassis has been cut in half at the B-pillars, while 59 inches (1.5 meters) of sheet metal were added. In that additional space the students installed a lot of equipment for the ultimate comfort of the passengers inside the limo. Under the hood it has the same 1.6-liter gasoline engine which obviously is underpowered for such a big car, but it's still a pretty good student-made project car.

As a side note, the video was recorded on a highway in Romania between Bucharest and Pitesti, where the Dacia factory is located.
Special thanks to Bogdan for the tip!

Phillip Island : Carlos Checa takes command on final day of WSBK testing

    from TWOWHEELSBLOG
After Monday’s sunny and hot day of World Superbike testing at Phillip Island, the second and final day took place under grey skies and a few drops of rain that left the track half and half, neither dry nor wet, but slowly begining to dry out and by the afternoon session the conditions were perfect and allowed the riders to further drop yesterday’s lap times.
Leading the top of the timesheets was Carlos Checa with the new Ducati 1199 Panigale, who dropped a major hint to his rivals that the Panigale, despite previous speculations of much development work to still be done, will be competitive when the first round of the season rolls around on Sunday.
After having skipped the two day private test due to intestinal problems, Checa’s best lap was in 1.31.059, four tenths faster than yesterday and two tenths faster than Leon Camier’s fastest lap from day 1.
It was a tight session with eleven riders in less than a second. Following Checa was Marco Melandri, who continues to have doubts that his shoulder will hold for an entire race let alone two. Tom Sykes moved back up the charts to where we usually see him, his hand injury bothering him less than yesterday
Michel Fabrizio continues to impress with his Aprilia as he concluded the day ahead of Aprilia factory riders Sylvain Guintoli and Eugene Laverty who were 8th and 9th respectively.
Pata Honda’s Jonathan Rea and Leon Haslam were 5th and 6th, with the Northern Irishman two tenths faster than his team mate, with Haslam moving up in the final minutes. Althea Racing’s Davide Giugliano was also faster than the two Aprilia factory riders finishing the day in 7th, but he suffered a crash.
The morning session also saw activities stop after already injured Jules Cluzel suffered another crash - his third in four test days - that took him out for the rest of the day , but his best lap still gave him the 11th spot on the timesheets, while team mate Leon Camier was the only rider who didn’t make any headway on the final day, but in the overall times he was fourth fastest.
Chaz Davies was 12th ahead of the two Australian wildcards, Glenn Allerton who riding a BMW S1000RR for Hepburn Motorsport and Jamie Stauffer on a Fireblade for Team Honda Racing. Loris Baz was 15th, still feeling the after effects from his crash last Friday.
Max Neukirchner skipped the final day after his big crash yesterday, while Alstare’s Ayrton Badovini decided to return to track, but just for 8 laps, following his horrible crash on Friday that sent him to the hospital and the team with a burned up Panigale.

    Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato

    Written by
    the most beautiful recreation ever?
On 22nd July 1991, at Protech House, Cobham a fleet of four ‘Sanction 2′ recreations of Aston’s sublime Zagato collab was launched.
These cars were built under license with authenticity shot through every nut, bolt, square centimetre of alloy and hide. There were 19 originals and only four of these recreations made. Could it be that one day the recreations will be more sought after than the originals?
No matter. This simulacrum of six cylinder gorgeousness, a twenty two year old manifestation of a sixty year old siren — sold last year for a record 1.3 Million (or thereabouts).
According to Bonhams, who auctioned the car last year, the project was instigated in 1987 by Protech’s Victor Gauntlett and Peter Livanos, who commissioned the renowned Aston Martin specialist Richard Williams to up-rate four DB4 rolling chassis to DB4GT specification. These were then shipped to Italy to be fitted with Zagato’s stunningly beautiful, hand crafted bodies. They were then returned to Williams, who fitted the interiors and completed the cars at his new premises in Cobham, Surrey.
But words can’t really do justice to this sort of beauty, so just look at the pics and marvel

Nicky Hayden stars in Ducati Hypermotard License to Thrill commercial

During the 2012 EICMA show Ducati introduced the updated 2013 Hypermotard with its two versions, the base model plus the high performance SP and as part of family also added a crossover, dubbed the Hyperstrada.
To promote the new Hypermotard Ducati has gotten their MotoGP star Nicky Hayden to do the commercial and like we’ve said before the Kentucky Kid could be a model with his good looks, but he’s even better doing what he was born and raised to do, that is riding the wheels off a motorycle.
We hope everyone recognizes Ruben Xaus as the security guard … and with regards to ‘License to Thrill’ tag line that is becoming a little blase, as legendary TT rider John McGuinness already used it in his 007 spoof video.
