There’s nothing like a bit of tire smoke and extreme driving to whet an audience’s appetite before a main race. That’s what Ken Block was doing today before the first round of the Australian V8 Supercars Series at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide. If you’re having a slow Sunday, this is sure to provide a bit of entertainment…

Justin Bieber's MV Agusta F3 675 birthday gift
Last year teen idol and singer Justin Bieber (I can hear the groans) bought himself a Ducati 848 EVO when he didn’t even have a license and when he got it, he was spotted riding the powerful machine with a black livery and a couple of custom red Swag stickers (squid would probably been have more appropriate considering his riding gear) on a LA freeway.
Bieber who turned 19 on March 1st (which he tweeted was his worst birthday ever) will cheer up as his daddy Jeremy, presented him with this one-off MV Agusta 675 F3 to add to his garage.
The press release reads that Justin’s father contacted Motovan, the Canadian importer of MV Agusta expressing his desire to give his son a MV Agusta for his birthday and once MV Agusta’s President Giovanni Castiglioni and Motovan Corporation’s President James Paladino learned of this request, they were really honoured to be a part of this.
“I would like to thank MV Agusta and Motovan as it has been a pleasure to work with them on this very special project. Their quick response for the delivery of this exclusive Italian motorcycle gave us the time needed to personalize the F3 675 into what it is today,” said Jeremy Bieber.
This particular one-off MV Agusta was done by Lucent AC and they personalized the bike with black matte paint job which features a gas tank that reads 35 mil. followers on it - in tribute to the Bieb’s Twitter followers - Bieber’s tattoos are also featured as are Batman symbols, but probably what makes it stand out are the illuminated Batman and JB signatures.
The Bieber MV Agusta F3 675 will be on public display during the first 2 weeks of March at “The Museum” in Kitchener, Ontario, just outside Justin Bieber’s hometown.

Dinner 4x4: Range Rover Generations
This brings new meaning to the expression ‘cold buffet’. Yes, it’s well below zero, but with some warm clothes and friends about to turn up any minute, what could be better than an alfresco fondue in the Alps? And getting there? By Range Rover, of course...

Tarmac Customs CBX1000
Yes it’s super-wide! With six cylinders abreast and 1000cc, a bike like this never gonna be anything other than barrel-chested and manly-looking, and if you ever play Top Trumps with your motorcycle mates, then no-one’s gonna beat you on that score.
This Honda CBX1000 is brought to you courtesy of Tarmac Custom Motorcycles, yet another Spanish workshop turning out tasteful cafe customs, who we last showcased when they sent us pics of their very well-received green & gold xs850 Triple.
This particular machine arrived with Javi and Jano in a horrible state with a non-running engine, lots of corrosion and a broken exhaust. The engine had to be completely rebuilt with new pistons, con-rods and cylinders, and then micro-blasted to clean it up. As with most cafe/brat customs the tail section of the frame was chopped and rounded, with a handmade seat and mudguard.
The extremely complex looking pipes were made by their mate Robert from GR exhaust systems. Javi says; “it´s an amazing exhaust…sounds great!!! and contrary to what people think…it works! it´s made of stainless steel, and tig welded…a piece of art!” In fact the guys were gutted that the owner wanted it wrapped.
The wiring harness was remade and hidden in the frame tubes, which is a nice touch on any bike, while the battery is tucked neatly, low down between the rear wheel and the engine. The frame, brackets, clamps, wheels, mudguards in fact pretty much everything else – were sanded and powder coated.
The original 5 spoke wheels wear Coker Diamonds tyres, running 4.5×18 and 4.0×19. Handlebars come from ABM with Ariete retro grips, and there’s the usual tiny speedo and mini bates headlamp at the front, making the oversized engine look even more brutal.
To sharpen up the brakes (much needed on a bike with an engine this heavy) the guys installed a Honda CBR front master cylinder with stainless steel braided hoses, and of course some new pads.
The only thing on the bike that remained unchanged from the original was the tank and paint. It was just too perfect to mess with, and we have to agree. Why re-create retro when it’s right there in front of you?
It’s a stunning looking bike and we look forward to featuring more builds from Tarmac Custom Motorcycles. Check out more from Javi and Jano HERE on the Bike Shed, on their own blog and Facebook pages.

Chennai to Pondicherry: A Motorcycle Tour of Southern India
During a once in a lifetime trip to Southern India, we had the chance to capture some sights and sounds while we made our way from Chennai to Pondicherry on motorbikes. The trip was overwhelming and a truly eye opening experience. We at VBF knew that it would be very difficult to re-create on film the actual experience of being in India on the streets with thousands of cars, tuk-tuk's, cows, goats, and dogs. The visuals, sounds, and smells all created a sensory overload situation that can only be experienced by being there, but hopefully this film gives you a sense of what it was like to be immersed in the surroundings and experience the amazing places along the coast of Southern India.

MXGP 2013 Round 1 – Qatar results and highlights video
from DERESTRICTED
The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team made a strong start to the season in the first ever GP at the Losail Racing circuit in Doha, Qatar on Saturday night with Tony Cairoli and Ken De Dycker finishing 3-2 in their MX1 race, Carioli winning the Superfinal and Jeffrey Herlings the fastest man in the MX2 class with maximum points in each race.
The GP of Qatar in the Gulf State was for the first time held under lights. The competition also launched a new three-race format (instead of four motos). MX2 and MX1 races resulted in the top 18 riders advancing to the Super Final. They were joined by the top 2 MX2 & MX1 from a Last Chance Final for the combined final. This format is being used at the four overseas races – Qatar, Thailand, Mexico and Brazil.
MX2 riders were the first on the track and Herlings started his season picking up where he left off in 2012, winning his race by a stunning 25 seconds. In contrast to Friday’s qualifying race where he had to fight back from a crash to recover from the back of the field to eighth at the finish line, the Dutch teenager was well out of the start gates and was fourth going into the opening corner. He quickly moved into third in the opening lap and took the lead in lap three. From then on he controlled the lead and was never threatened. Herlings performance was even more impressive because he had a hard crash during training last Tuesday in Lommel and is nursing a badly bruised knee.
Fellow Dutchman Glenn Coldenhoff stole the holeshot on his KTM 250 SX-F and finished in an impressive second place while Red Bull KTM’s Jordi Tixier of the factory team finished a strong seventh.
The MX1 race that followed saw De Dycker fourth at the start while Cairoli was buried deep in the pack back at thirteenth. While the Italian settled down to pick off riders, De Dycker concentrated his efforts on moving up to take control of the lead. He managed to stay in front until the closing laps when Clement Desalle slipped by and stole the glory. Meanwhile Cairoli, who has just signed with the factory team until 2016 had worked his way back fourth and slipped into third just before the finish. All four Red Bull KTM factory riders easily advanced to the Super Final.
Cairoli went on to take a comfortable victory in the Superfinal ahead of Clement Desalle after slipping into the lead just ten minutes into the race. Herlings was overall seventh in the Super Final but was the first of the MX2 riders across the line for maximum points.
The points shakeout in MX1 at the end of the night saw Cairoli at number two with 45 points, two points shy of Desalle while KTM factory teammate De Dycker finishes fourth overall with 36 points. In MX2 no rider was able to challenge Herlings who left with 50 points. Second was Australian Dean Ferris while French KTM rider Romain Febvre was third with 38 points and Glenn Coldenhoff of Netherlands was fourth with 36. Herlings factory teammate Jordi Tixier of France wrapped up his night race in sixth overall in MX2 with 30 points.
Riders faced plenty of challenges on this circuit that was technically difficult and featured a tough surface with plenty of loose stones breaking through the surface. The night race also saw additional moisture on the track as the desert night air cooled.
The MX GP circus now moves to Thailand where they will face another new circuit next weekend.

Last weekend’s Historic Rally Sweden was won by ex-world champion Petter Solberg. Judging by the popularity of the event, Scandinavia clearly hasn’t escaped the passion for classic competition cars. And there are some real surprises to be found in Sweden’s snowy countryside…
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the outside, it is just another one of the brightly-painted barns you pass when driving in Sweden or Norway. Like so many, this one is red, so there is nothing to distinguish it from countless similar buildings. On a normal day, you would drive through the small village without noticing it…
But this isn’t a normal day. Ford has kindly invited us to join YouTube channel PolePositionP1 to visit ice-driving school owner Jan who has arranged a ride in the forest for the website’s presenter Rosanna in a Ford Escort RS2000. It doesn’t take long to realise that Jan is a classic sports car enthusiast…
On arrival, we find five collectible Fords lined up in the snow: a red RS2000, a Mk1 Escort, a V8 Mustang, a V8 Falcon and an AC Cobra (“A replica,” admits Jan). They are sitting on skinny studded winter tyres and are normally used by the ice-driving school which boasts rally legend Stig Blomqvist as one of its instructors.
As we take photos of the neatly parked machines, we are asked if we would like to take a peep inside the red barn. Of course we would…
The big double doors open to reveal 20 or so classic cars; mostly Fords and mostly American – and some are quite rare. As our eyes become accustomed to the dark, it is clear that Jan is a huge Ford Galaxie 427 fan. There are several of these sixties ‘muscle cars’, including a seven-litre version that is being prepared for Blomqvist to race. “When it’s finished, it will deliver 580 horsepower – possibly the fastest Galaxie ever.” Under a sheet in a corner, there’s a GT40 bodyshell. Nearby sit a dusty two-door 1947 Cadillac and an original red Mustang. Some of these cars can be hired for historic racing, and there’s a 1960s Volvo Amazon for drivers who want something a little tamer to rent.
All too soon, it’s time to move on to a nearby forest where PolePositionP1’s Rosanna is treated to a high-speed icy drive through the trees alongside Kjetil Bolneset, six-time Norwegian Rallycross champion. It’s a ride the rally-novice reporter will no doubt remember for a long time to come…
