Ultimate Adventure 2013

As the Ultimate Adventure 2013 continues on leg two, the group of 25 seasoned rigs continue the week-long trek from Alabama while enjoying the locals sights with stops at Auto City Salvage and Cheaha State Park- the highest point in Alabama. The group winds its way on remote dirt roads until reaching Georgia on as many back routes as possible. Setting up camp in the rain at River Rock in Georgia, the group embraced the true spirit of UA facing the elements, vehicle repairs and maintenance before spending their first night outdoors. Starting the next day at River Rock, (only open by special invite) the group faced challenges and obstacles in red clay, sand, boulders and various terrain, with mixed results but all reinforcing the camaraderie building in the group.
The second trail day took us to River Rock ORV park in Milledgeville, Georgia. River Rock is a private park that has recently been closed, however the owner allowed the Ultimate Adventure crew access and we are glad he did. The overnight rain combined with the Georgia clay made for very little traction, so drivers had to use momentum and wheel speed to navigate the slick trails. We managed to stay dry until the last trail of the day, then the bottom fell out and we enjoyed a free shower right before dinner back at camp.

Adventures in South Ameriqua
So my buddies Martin and Christian are off riding their 690 KTM’s in South America with another friend of theirs, at the start of a 4 month trip having air freighted their bikes over from Europe. Martin has now posted enough photos on his Facebook page that I am not only questioning my daily life spent sitting in front of a computer, but even questioning my very existence itself, and I though it was therefore about time to share some of his photo. I think they have so far been through Chile and have now reached Argentina.
