Ralfs Sirmacis s’est adjugé la victoire sur le légendaire SEAJETS Acropolis Rally pour ses débuts au plus haut niveau en Championnat d’Europe FIA des Rallyes.
Le Letton, pour son premier départ au volant d’une voiture R5 après sa deuxième place au championnat Junior ERC l’année dernière, a mené de manière quasiment ininterrompue pour finir par s’imposer.
Les pilotes derrière Sirmacis ont rencontré des difficultés dans la dernière étapes. Lambros Athanassoulas a terminé en larmes après avoir été rattrapé par un Péter Ranga en feu. Incertain quant à sa position finale, il conserve finalement la deuxième place pour son rallye à domicile, avec un dixième d’avance sur Jaromír Tarabus.
Raul Jeets s’empare finalement de la quatrième place, profitant de soucis sur la voiture de Jarosław Kołtun. Celui-ci a chuté à la sixième place, derrière Wojciech Chuchała qui s’impose donc en catégorie ERC2 pour la troisième fois en autant de rallye cette saison. Ranga, bien que très rapide pendant cette dernière spéciale, a perdu sa deuxième place. Il n’a pas pu rallier l’arrivée.
Tomasz Kasperczyk est donc passé septième et Kajetan Kajetanowicz huitième. Alexey Lukyanuk termine finalement neuvième grâce à son temps qui le place quatre secondes devant Jose Luis Jacquet Rios. Tibor Érdi Jr a glissé en 11ème position à cause d’une crevaison.
Murat Bostanci a remporté le rallye en catégorie ERC3.

Ralfs Sirmacis has secured a sensational victory on the legendary SEAJETS Acropolis Rally on his debut at the top level of the FIA European Rally Championship.
The 21-year-old from Latvia, making his first start in an R5 car after finishing runner-up in the ERC Junior Championship last year, had led the rally almost uninterrupted after winning the first stage on Saturday.
There was drama and confusion at the end of the final stage for the drivers behind Sirmacis on the leaderboard. Lambros Athanassoulas reached the finish in tears after being caught up behind an ailing Péter Ranga on the stage, unsure whether he would hold onto second place on his home event. In the end, he held onto the place over Jaromír Tarabus by just one tenth of a second.
Raul Jeets took fourth after problems on the final stage for Jarosław Kołtun, who falls to sixth behind Wojciech Chuchała, who sealed a third ERC2 win from as many events. Ranga however lost second place in the category after failing to make the finish.
That promoted Tomasz Kasperczyk to seventh with Kajetan Kajetanowicz taking eighth. Alexey Lukyanuk made it to the finish in ninth after moving four seconds ahead of Jose Luis Jacquet Rios on the final stage, as Tibor Érdi Jr slipped to 11th due to a puncture.
Murat Bostanci secured victory in the ERC3 class.
