IWC reveals a trio of motorsport-inspired Ingenieurs at 74MM

At the 74th Goodwood Members’ Meeting, official timekeeper IWC has revealed three special-edition, motorsport-themed versions of its iconic Ingenieur…
The rarest of the trio is the ‘74th Members’ Meeting at Goodwood’ chronograph (Ref. IW387803), which will be limited to 74 pieces. Moving away from the typical Gerald Genta style, this 42mm Ingenieur has an elegant red gold case, with details reminiscent of the vintage racing machines that can be found at the event. A brown calfskin strap completes the look, taking inspiration from the interiors of such machines.

    Mercedes legends, man and machine

Limited to 750 examples apiece are the ‘Rudolf Caracciola’ and ‘W 125’ special edition Ingenieurs, respectively dedicated to the legendary pre-War racing driver and the famous Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrow. The Caracciola piece uses a stainless-steel case, rhodium-plated hands and slate-coloured dial for a technical appearance. Meanwhile, the W 125 (Ref. IW380701) edition transports you to the cockpit of a celebrated racing machine, with a titanium case, a silver-plated dial and black hands and appliqués, together with a black calfskin strap.
All three special-edition watches are powered by the new in-house 69370 calibre, which “sets new standards regarding quality, ruggedness and reliability,” according to IWC’s Head of In-House Movement Development, Thomas Gäumann. For further information, visit the IWC website.
