WRC Rally Mexique : Ogier/Ingrassia dans le « Top 100 » / 100 starts for Ogier and Ingrassia

Rally Mexico will be Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia’s 100th world class start. In the eight years since their WRC debut on the same event in 2008, they have notched up four world crowns, 34 wins, 47 podiums, 418 stage victories and just 12 retirements.
Sébastien Ogier’s first world championship appearance was the 2008 Rally Mexico where he was dispatched by France’s motorsport governing body (FFSA) in a Citroën C2 Super 1600 to launch his Junior WRC campaign.
He hit the ground running by winning the class by a margin of more than a minute-and-a-half thanks to nine stage wins (including the first six). He also pocketed his first WRC points by coming eighth overall!
A score of three more Junior successes earned him the 2008 JWRC title on home soil in Corsica before he was offered an outing in a World Rally Car – a Citroën C4 WRC – in Wales to conclude the season.
That event saw him collect his first stage victory at the highest level on SS2 (Sweet Lamb), helped by a favourable start order. He even topped the leaderboard until SS5 before losing time with a mistake.
Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia had to wait until the 2009 Acropolis for their first podium finish (and their second stage win), then practically another year for their maiden victory, in Portugal in 2010 (Citroën C4 WRC). Since then, they have added 33 more and, above all, have celebrated three world crowns with Volkswagen/Michelin.
Their stats reveal a winning rate of 34 percent, or 42.5 percent if you only take participations in a serious World Rally Car into account! Since 2013, the rate has climbed to 65.8 percent thanks to a score of 27 victories from 41 starts with VW/Michelin.
Since the 2008 Rally Mexico, the pair has secured 47 podium finishes (with only four third places), totalled 1,305 points (including 101 Power Stage bonus points) and won 418 stages, including 28 Power Stage victories and one in a Skoda S2000/Michelin!
Just before Ogier’s world debut, Sébastien Loeb started his 100th WRC round in Sweden. His record at the time was 37 victories and four world crowns, making the two Frenchman almost equal at this stage in their careers.
Only 25 drivers have started 100 FIA WRC rounds or more. The order is topped by Carlos Sainz (196), followed by Petter Solberg (188) and Loeb (169).
