Behind the Scenes of the 2013 Pirelli Calendar

Exclusive, exquisite and desirable, the release each year of the Pirelli calendar is a landmark occasion. It brings together the world’s most beautiful models and most inspirational photographers to create an article of beauty.

It’s a motoring institution.

This year Steve McCurry, the photographer responsible for the iconic Afghan Girl, was given the task of shooting the calendar, and he took it in a completely different direction.

Unfortunately, the recipients of the 2013 Pirelli calendar will not be viewing any nude photos. “When I told the models there would be no nudity, some of them were disappointed,” said casting director Jennifer Starr……..If the models are disappointed that there won’t be any nudity, you better believe the customers won’t be too thrilled either.

L'Allemagne bat la France en Nations Cup

L'Allemagne est décidément quasi imbattable dans la ROC Nations Cup puisqu'elle a déroché ce jour sa sixième victoire consécutive aujourd'hui à Bangkok, dans le Rajamangala Stadium.

Sebastian Vettel et Michael Schumacher -10 titres de Champion du Monde F1 à eux deux-ont battu en finale l'équipe de France composée de Sébastien Ogier, vainqueur de la Race of Champions 2011, et de Romain Grosjean par le score sans appel de deux manches à rien. Les deux allemands ont remporté les dix  manches de cette Nations Cup.

Les concurrents se sont expliqués au volant de Audi R8 LMS, de VW Scirocco, de Lamborghini Gallardo, de Toyota GT86, de Buggy ROC, entre autres.  

Michael Schumacher a tout d'abord battu Romain Grosjean, Sebastian Vettel parachevant le succès de l'équipe allemande en disposant de Sébastien Ogier.

En demi-finale, les français avaient triomphé du Team All Stars (Tom Kristensen et Jorge Lorenzo) par deux manches à zéro, l'Allemagne éliminant l'Australie (Jamie Whincup et Mike Doohan) sur le même score.

VANNING IS BACK

Vanning. It swept the USA during the 1970s in an explosion of side pipes, murals, and velvet interiors before it disappeared just as fast as it began. For a long time after, custom vans were looked at as embarrassing pieces of the past rather than nostalgic classics. That is changing though. During the last several years, more and more 1970s style custom vans have been popping up at events and at this year’s Mooneyes X-Mas Party there was a separate area dedicated specifically to vintage vans.

You can sense the the increasing popularity of old vans when you see what they sell for these days. They are no Muscle Cars for sure, but sometimes it’s surprising to see how much early models like the Dodge A100 and Ford Econoline go for on Ebay or Craigslist.

Some of these custom vans grew to be quite large…
