Triumph Scrambler, PoP by Mr. Martini

The Triumph Scrambler is a true representation of Triumph Motorcycles classic era; this bike demands attention where ever it goes. Our Italian friend Mr Martini has taken a unique approach in restyling the last Triumph creation of designer John Mockett.
This special Triumph Scrambler aka “PoP” is the most obvious example of the freedom of spirit that bikes usually offer (especially the Scrambler model), transferred to the mind and also to Mr Martini’s psychedelic pop fantasies!!!!
I personally love all of Mr. Martini’s creations but the feature of the day has in my eyes made it to the top of the list. In my travel plans to Italy Mr. Martini is one of the places I would be drooling about.
Based on one of the most legendary Triumph models, Mr Martini worked out again with style and experience the unique off road 70 years charm. Over the years Nicola has selected technical and aesthetic components to give to the Triumph scrambler a more marked look and higher performance. 70 year fenders, new colors and a handmade saddle coated with old leather, which comes from a jacket found in a flea market.
The rear frame is shorter and features Öhlins shock absorbers, the ratio are shorter and the exhaust is created and designed by Zard specifically for Mr. Martini.
What you read above are Mr Martini’s Triumph Scrambler transformations. The real deal is this unique approach which I have never seen before, what am I talking about you ask? Here’s Nicola to break it down.
“Who would have ever invented to recycle the old yellowed pages of “The Times” encapsulated in composite materials (a particular type of fiberglass) to create the fenders and side panels. And then match a yellow bright handmade saddle contrasting with the black tank on which stands the word POP-made by Matteo (Nicola’s son).
We have already received requests from customers who want souvenir pages and photos to carry on their bikes. The PoP displayed in the shop window recently is also collecting a resounding success. The bike, personalized, becomes unique, a mix of modern technology on a soul full of style and personality”.
Special thanks to Mr Martini for allowing us feature his custom Triumph Scrambler, PoP, to find out more about Mr Martini’s builds please visit his website.

    ‘Autobahn’: Taking a ride in a chrome-bumper hipster 911

Another day, another hand-built Porsche 911 video complete with groovy soundtrack. So what’s wrong with that? This time, a stripped-to-the-minimum silver 911 is driven from its home in the city to the countryside. And through a tunnel – we like that bit.

Stretch back in your Eames lounge chair, rest your Red Wing chukkas on the ottoman and enjoy the ride.

1967 SHELBY GT500CR 900S BLUE BY CLASSIC RECREATIONS

This is an automotive god! The 1967 Shelby GT500CR 900s by Classic Recreations. Based in Oklahoma, USA Classic Recreations build these beautiful upgrading them with huge modern brakes, racing inspired suspension and reliability you;d expect from an Audi. With a huge and almost unbelievable 770 horsepower  427 C.I Crate Engine this thing will sounds as good as it looks. Not to mention the supercharger that’s bolted onto it, it’s going to be a scary ride when you give it the full pedal but my god it will be worth it. Engines are hand assembled out of the finest parts available, and with nearly 800 horsepower on tap the 900S model offers supercar performance.
You can by one of these beautiful cars in a variety of colours but after looking through them all blue is the way to go. The interior isn’t a let down either, lets be honest American cars are not known for there interiors but CR have let the car down. Inside you will find Carroll Shelby Signature Seats along with Simpson 5 point seatbelts. The dials looks sweet too which are also Carroll Shelby Signature’s, the cool thing is he gauge goes up to 200mph which is pretty sweet. You also get air con which is a god send not matter where you live and I imagine in some places in America a must if your sat on a huge 770bhp engine. You get a modern Pioneer stereo and subwoofer enclosure in the rear to bring the Mustang firmly into 2013.
This for me is my idea car, it’s got all the soul and spirit of the classic 1967 Mustang but it’s had a new younger heart along with technological advances that would be rude not to use. It’s also available in Right Hand Drive at a little extra cost… happy days. It’s a stunning classic and one of the finest examples money can buy, the guys at Classic Recreations rock.

Sykes excited ahead of Nurburgring, Baz confident after Silverstone victory

With just five rounds left in the 2013 World Superbike championship and just 13 points separating him from Sylvain Guintoli, Tom Sykes will have to pull out all stops if he wants to win the title this season.
The British rider failed to score a single podium at Silverstone in the difficult and unpredictable weather conditions, and this weekend’s Nurburgring round may offer very similar weather conditions, but Sykes says the three week summer break has recharged his batteries.
“I am really excited about racing again this coming weekend in Germany. I spoke to my crew chief Marcel Duinker last night and a three-week break has been good for us,” said Sykes. “I have enjoyed my time at home and with the busy month we have coming up in September I have been doing some good training in readiness for three races in quick succession. I am ready go, I feel fit and I am fully recharged. I like the circuit in Germany and the Ninja ZX-10R has been strong there in the past so I am looking forward to this weekend.”
After scoring a spectacular victory at Silverstone (the second in his career) Loris Baz is ready to take on Nurburgring - no matter the weather conditions.
Baz will have to ride well in these next few rounds if he wants to keep his place in the Kawasaki team, as several riders are gunning for his spot for the 2014 season, including Marco Melandri.
The 20-year old has confirmed he is currently talks with KRT for a contract renewal, but he has also been in talks with MotoGP team NGM Forward racing, who will be fielding a a non MSMA Yamaha M1 next year.
After the win at Silverstone my confidence is really good. Races like Assen and Silverstone went really well but we knew that some other tracks in the season would not be the best for me,” said Baz. “Now, after Silverstone, there are only good tracks coming for me. I like the Nurburgring and I have shown in the past few races that I can ride well in different conditions. I would like it to be dry, but if it is wet it is no problem for me.”
