Marc Marquez takes third and learns, Pedrosa suffers from rear grip issues

We don’t think anyone had any doubts that Marc Marquez is the real deal. The MotoGP rookie has absolutely no shyness in battle, as he proved to the world during last night’s race in Qatar after beating his veteran team mate - and the first rule in racing is beating your team mate - and then battling with a resurgent Valentino Rossi to the finish line.
Rossi laughingly said that he had to try to beat Marquez as often as possible in the first half of the season, before he got any further experience, and that is an endorsement from a rival. Marquez told the press that MotoGP races are physical gruelling and wishes that he has the consistency of Jorge Lorenzo.
“To tell the truth, I was pretty nervous on the grid, because it was my first MotoGP race. I don’t think I’ve ever been so nervous before. I found it hard to keep calm and I wasn’t as focused as in Moto2. However, I regained my concentration at the last moment. The start was important and we knew that we were taking off from the dirty part of the track. I didn’t get off well, but I was able to attack on the opening laps and overtake many riders. I think that this was the key. When I rode behind Dani I learnt a lot, also later on with Valentino. Fighting against him is always nice to watch, but it’s always tough at the same time. Valentino was a tough rival to overtake on the final laps. He beat us this time, but we hope to learn from him and from everyone who went faster than us.” said Marquez.
Dani Pedrosa saw Jorge Lorenzo at the start of the race and on the first lap until the reigning World Champion disappeared into the Qatari night like a shooting star. The Repsol Honda rider had solved his corner entry issues before qualifying, but solving that problem gave him isses with rear grip on his RC213V and he had nothing to stop his team mate and Valentino Rossi.
“Today’s race was good, in part. I rode strongly and at a good level, although I had to slide around a lot during the entire race to combat a lack of rear grip. I saw from the opening lap that Lorenzo was going much faster and I tried to keep my position, because I knew that on the corners the traction issue came into play. I tried as hard as I could to keep my position, but then Rossi came through at a blistering pace and, to tell the truth, I couldn’t stop him -he went straight through. I did all that I could, but it wasn’t enough. Maybe there was a setup issue with the rear, because I had problems with it all weekend and we didn’t have enough grip tonight. I was off the podium in the end, which is a shame considering we had some good pre-season tests and that the setup was good in those. For some reason, it just didn’t work for us tonight, ” said Pedrosa.

Jorge Lorenzo: I pushed more than 100% - Rossi enjoys battle with Marquez

    Yamaha 2013 Qatar Race

Using the phrase martillo y mantequilla (hammer and butter) that is etched on the levers of Jorge Lorenzo’s Yamaha M1 and the word perfect is the only way we can describe the reigning World Champion’s 2013 Qatar race.
A punishing pace and an unwavering rhythm, that Lorenzo carefully and methodically constructed during the pre-season tests and the during the four-day weekend. Eight consecutive blistering laps under the 1.56 barrier gave the Spaniard a truly impressive victory and an great start to his title defense.
“Half an hour before the race I felt a little bit nervous so I had to really concentrate and relax on the grid. I knew it was going to be difficult to open a gap but I had to try, I made a good start and pushed more than 100%. In the beginning it was hard to open the gap as Pedrosa didn’t want to let me get away, he tried to stay with me but after six or seven laps I opened the gap which made me more confident to keep my pace.I’m very happy for Yamaha and happy for Valentino as he has now passed two difficult years,” said Lorenzo.
May Lin Jarvis summed it up the best when he said to Valentino Rossi at the parc ferme, “welcome back.” It’s amazing how Valentino Rossi literally stole the scene from Lorenzo. The Yamaha rider with his error due to a ‘red mist moment’ as he called it trying not to Lorenzo escape. put him back in seventh and his subsequent return through the field, the picking off Cal Crutchlow, Dani Pedrosa and his battle with Marc Marquez was something that Rossi fans - and racing fans in general - truly missed.
Rossi was also truly lucky, as he also had a bent front brake lever which he sustained after trying to pass Andrea Dovizioso he ended up touching Dani Pedrosa’s tire.

“I’m more than happy, very happy indeed because it was my dream to come back with Yamaha. To arrive on the podium at the first race was my target from November and I put all my effort to arrive at the maximum here. It was a difficult weekend, especially yesterday in qualifying, but I knew I had great pace so I tried to recover in the beginning but I made a mistake and I lost time. I had to do a great second part of the race and step by step I came close to my podium. In the end there was a great battle, especially with Marc for the second place. I’m so happy for me, for my team, for my friends and all my fans who stay with me through two difficult years and also for Yamaha, to start the season with first and second place is not so bad!” said Rossi.

Triumph Rocket Phantom by Mr. Martini

If you have had the fortune to step into a Rolls Royce and have a ride you would have realized that you haven’t just got into a car, you have entered into another dimension, luxurious, comfortable, huge and aristocratic.
Mr. Martini in his mental journey, dreaming of a Rolls on two wheels and living again a wonderful journey riding a Triumph Rocket III, he wanted to achieve the same sensations. So, why not make the Triumph Rocket even more like the most luxurious and stately car in the world?
Nicola has always been impressed by the bike’s engine and cubage but it comes out of the factory with a concept that is not so convincing. It’s a sort of “similar custom cruiser” but that doesn’t give the right honor to this powerful engine.
Mr. Martini decides to make the Triumph Rocket more British. He starts from a Triumph Rocket Rocket Classic (2008) sent from a Russian customer who asked for a personalization. There are several elements that Nicola wanted to mix up, to move on 2 wheels the “taste” of the more aristocratic car in the world:
    • The huge chrome original radiator.
    • The saddle, painted in beige and with a new shape, covered with Connoly leather coming from the rear seat of a true Rolls Royce!
    • The big classic windscreen creates aerodynamic and comfortable covering.
    • The elegant bags, developed during many hours of hard work, with an expandable system to put the helmet when the bike stands still. Finished with leather straps with a buckle lock that evoke the picnic bags used by English aristocracy and placed in the luggage van of these luxury cars.
Even the Zard Company, fascinated by this project has made an elegant and powerful exhaust system specifically for this bike. The beige saddle, combined with black frame and beige manifold exhaust make the whole very luxurious. It seems to be on the four Rolls wheels where physical space becomes a state of mind, a freedom space, but in pure luxury.
