    VAUGHN GITTIN JR.’S FIRE DRIFT

What do you get when you mix a Ford Mustang, a few jumps and a whole lot of fire? You get Monster Energy Fire Drift starring Vaughn Gittin Jr. and his RTR Mustang.
If Michael Bay were to produce a drift film, it would most likely come out looking very much like this.
    Enjoy!

    Ducati 1098S - Shed X ‘Malizia’

    Written by Phil Guy.
The genesis for the latest to roll out of Sydney’s Shed-X came almost a year ago, when their first build, a wicked café/street hybrid dubbed ‘Bastardo’, caught the eye of a potential buyer. The buyer had a problem, though. To free up some cash for ‘Bastardo’ he needed first to sell his mint 1098S, but in a flooded market he was getting little joy. At about this juncture we can assume the term ‘trade-in’ was uttered. And thus ‘Malizia’ was born. "As soon as I test rode the 1098S," Neil from Shed-X explains, "I knew we could do something with it to make it more enjoyable around the streets".
To achieve that, the 1098S was stripped down and the frame de-tabbed. But how to get the stance just right? "We decided the only way we could get the seat and tank angle the way we wanted was to make our own sub frame from scratch, and make a mould for two seat styles so we could get the look we wanted," Neil says. "We are now producing these items, so if you are not in Sydney and want to re-invent your 1098, 848 or street-fighter, we can send you the bolt on parts."
They also fabricated the 2-into-1 exhaust, then mated it to a Radical Ducati megaphone by Spark – by all accounts, it sounds awesome. The original running gear has been kept, because, well, would you replace a barely run-in 1098S running gear? Stock suspension and brakes have also been retained. The wiring harness was adjusted to relocate the ECU, rectifier, and new 12-cell, anti-gravity Li-ion battery. Indicators are in-house fare.
‘Malizia’ (translation: malicious) pumps out about 160bhp, which is the same as the stock 1098S. She has shed about 12kg though, so Neil’s hunch that something could be done to make it more enjoyable around the streets seems about spot on.
And what will we see roll out of Shed-X next? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see what the buyer of ‘Malizia’ rides in on.

Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi prepared for upcoming Catalunya GP

    from TWOWHEELSBLOG
Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi will be heading to Catalunya in Spain this weekend for the sixth round of the MotoGP championship.
Lorenzo after his dominate victory at Mugello will be hoping for the same performance on another of his ‘home circuits’ that put him on the top spot of the podium last year and in 2010. The reigning World Champion has never been lower than second place in his previous appearances (in 2008 he withdrew from the race after a big crash during Friday afternoon’s second free practice session when he was knocked unconscious and suffered a concussion).
Jorge Lorenzo said, “I’m quite satisfied after our great result at Mugello that completed an almost perfect weekend. Winning again was very positive for me and for the team and now we go to Montmeló, my home grand prix. Some parts of the track are quite suitable for us but the doubt is always if the track conditions and the temperature can benefit us. I am very optimistic for the race and we will keep on working on the bike in the same way that we did in Italy. Compared to Mugello, Montmeló is a little bit slower but at least there are no first gear corners and hopefully that will help us a lot. This is a good track for us and we have to profit from it and try to repeat the victory. It could be great for the Championship. As far as I’m concerned I will push 100% to achieve it.”

Valentino Rossi will be searching for redemption after a first lap crash/clash with Honda’s Alvaro Bautista, suffering his second DNF of the season that dropped him down to sixth in the standings and behind Cal Crutchlow and Andrea Dovizioso.
After five races Rossi is still chasing a second podium finish and qualifying better is the only chance he’ll have in trying to turnaround his so far disappointing season.
The Catalunya circuit is another of Rossi’s favorites and he has claimed more victories than any other GP rider, including one 125cc win in 1997, 250cc wins in 1998 and 1999, one 500cc victory in 2001 and five premier class victories in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006 and in 2009 when he beat team mate Lorenzo in one of the most remembered battles in the recent history of GP racing.
“For a few days after I had the crash at Mugello, I hurt everywhere! Fortunately I was able to start training immediately and I did not waste any time. The Barcelona race will be very important, especially after recent results. I want to get on the podium in Spain and I will do my best as usual. It will be important to start the weekend in the best way and make a good qualifying. It will be very important to start from the front,” said Rossi.

Supermoto :A promising start to Sylvain Bidart’s campaign / Sylvain Bidart, un début de saison prometteur

After four years away, Sylvain Bidart is back in the FIM SuperMoto World Championship riding a Honda-Michelin run by Team Luc1. After two rounds, the Frenchman is third in the provisional standings.
Although Sylvain Bidart was third at the most recent meeting in Capua, Italy, he didn’t expect to be so competitive. “I honestly didn’t believe I would finish on the podium so soon in the year,” he says. “Racing in Italy is always tough because most of the Italians in the championship also do their home series, so they know the tracks…”
The French rider came close to a top-three finish in the second race at Vairano, also in Italy, where he harvested a fourth and a fifth place. “I wasn’t at all disappointed. Okay, it would have been nice to get into the top three but I am still third in the current standings.
“Michelin has played a big role in my strong start to the season. Our association so far has surpassed my expectations and I would like to thank everyone there for the outstanding work they do.”
This month sees the competition head east for visits to the Czech Republic (June 23) and Estonia (June 30). Sylvain will be hunting for more podium success in order to stay in contact with the two riders who provisionally top the championship.
