WTCC : López scores a record victory - Huff is the King of Macau!
Course 1 – 10e victoire et record pour López
José María López ajoute Macao à son riche palmarès 2014 à l’issue d’une première course dominatrice sur le circuit de Guia.
Au départ, le pilote argentin tire le meilleur parti de sa pole position et garde le contrôle de l’épreuve, sans pour autant que son avance en tête ne lui permette de gérer puisqu’il coupe la ligne avec une avance de seulement 2’’7 sur son premier poursuivant. En remportant ce 10esuccès, le pilote Citroën bat le record de victoires dans la même saison (Muller en avait décroché 9 en 2012). Il devient par ailleur, comme Augusto Farfus et Norbert Michelisz, le troisième pilote à s’imposer à Macao dès sa première participation à l’épreuve.
Derrière López, tir groupé des Honda avec dans l’ordre Michelisz, Tarquini et Monteiro qui soulignent les excellentes performances des voitures japonaises. Ils sont talonnés par Muller et Loeb, troisième en début de course mais dont la Citroën ne s’est pas révélée aussi dominatrice en course.
Franz Engstler, enfin, s’impose en TC2T.

Course 2 – Huff roi de Macao !
Rob Huff l’a fait… encore ! Le Britannique s’impose dans la Course, remportant son 7e succès (en 20 départs) à Macao.
Le pilote LADA devient ainsi définitivement le Roi du circuit de Guia. Egalement la deuxième victoire pour le constructeur russe cette saison, qui se conclut sur une excellente note. Yvan Muller a tout tenté pour passer Huff, mais ce fut impossible pour le Français de trouver l’ouverture. Auteur d’un mauvais envol depuis la pole position, Hugo Valente se rattrape en s’invitant sur la troisième marche du podium, son troisième de l’année.
La physionomie de l’épreuve changea totalement à deux tours de l’arrivée, à l’issue d’une neutralisation derrière le Safety Car, lorsque la Honda Tiago Monteiro rencontra un problème de direction qui l’a contraint à l’abandon. Le Portugais fut jusqu’alors le héros du début de course et semblait incontestablement s’envoler vers la victoire.
Les honneurs du clan nippon reviennent ainsi à Norbert Michelisz, 4edevant López et Loeb, tandis que Franz Engstler, pour sa dernière course en WTCC, remporte la catégorie TC2T.

L’épreuve est en revanche terminée pour Morbidelli lorsqu’il tape le rail dans FIsherman.
Tour 5 – Loeb est 8e après s’être défait de Ma et Coronel. Meilleur tour en course pour Huff en 2.27.009.
Tour 6 – Loeb dépasse Chilton et Ma se défait de Coronel à Lisboa, mais le Hollandais reprend son bien à San Francisco. C’en est terminé, par ailleurs, pour Kozlovsiy qui regagne les stands.

Tour 10 – Muller commet une nouvelle faute au restart, ce qui donne de l’air à Monteiro et Huff, tandis que Valente déloge Michelisz de la 4eplace dans le virage de Lisboa.
Tour 11 – Coup de théâtre au début du tour quand Monteiro ralentit en raison de soucis techniques. Il est immédiatement dépassé par Huff et Muller, en pleine bagarre. Tous deux se touchent à l’épingle de Melco, mais la LADA conserve l’avantage jusqu’au drapeau à damier. Valente complète le podium devant Michelisz, López, Loeb, Chilton, Coronel, Thompson et Engstler qui remporte le TC2T.

José María López has added the Macau diamond to his 2014 crown by winning authoritatively Race 1 at the Guia Circuit.
The Argentine pulled away from pole at the start and kept control of the race, although is gap was never very consistent, ending with a 2.7-second margin. With this tenth seasonal success, the Citroën driver broke the record of most wins in the same season (Muller had scored 9 in 2012). He also became, after Augusto Farfus and Norbert Michelisz, the third WTCC driver victorious at Macau on his first appearance.

Race 2 – Huff is the King of Macau!
Rob Huff did it again! The Brit has managed to take an astonishing win in Race 2, signing his 7th win (in 20 starts) at Macau.
This definitely made of him the King of the Guia Circuit. It was also the second victory of the year for him and LADA Sport, which ended the season on a great high. Yvan Muller tried everything to pass Huff, but it was impossible for the Frenchman to find a way through. Hugo Valente, after a poor start from the pole, recovered well to take third (his third podium of the year).

Yard Built SR400 ‘Stallion’ and ‘Bronco’ by KEDO
The German parts company’s first independent collaborations with Yamaha have resulted in two SR400 Yard Built creations that showcase some similarities but deliver two very different animals. The first, the ‘Stallion’ is dominated by sharp lines and rounded edges, hinting at its vintage genes.
