Moto GP ;Casey Stoner reprend la compétition pour les 8H de Suzuka/ Stoner to make sensational return to racing in Suzuka 8hr

Le double Champion du Monde MotoGP™ participera à la prestigieuse épreuve d’endurance pour Honda avec le team MuSASHi RT HARC-PRO.

Honda Racing Corporation a le plaisir d’annoncer le retour à la compétition de Casey Stoner. Le Champion du Monde MotoGP™ 2007 et 2011 sera l’un des trois pilotes du team MuSASHi RT HARC-PRO de Honda pour l’édition 2015 des 8 Heures de Suzuka, qui auront lieu le 26 juillet.

L’Australien, qui fera équipe avec Michael van der Mark, pilote Honda en World Superbike, et le pilote d’essais du HRC Takumi Takahashi, qui court dans le championnat MFJ All Japan Road Race JSB1000, visera une sixième victoire consécutive pour Honda à Suzuka.

Après avoir récemment prolongé son contrat de pilote d’essais pour le HRC, Stoner avait testé la CBR1000RR utilisée à Suzuka au mois de janvier, à Sepang, et avait pu faire un bilan positif de ses essais avec les ingénieurs de la marque japonaise.

L’Australien aura à nouveau l’opportunité de rouler avec la Superbike de Honda les 7 et 8 puis les 14 et 15 juillet.

Casey Stoner :

« Après avoir testé la moto à Sepang il y a quelque temps, j’ai discuté avec Honda de la possibilité de courir à Suzuka. Ça a toujours été un évènement auquel je voulais participer et c’est quelque chose que je ne pouvais pas faire quand je courais en MotoGP parce que le calendrier était trop chargé. Je suis maintenant impatient de courir là-bas ! La moto est très différente d’un prototype MotoGP mais ce sera un nouveau challenge et l’opportunité d’essayer quelque chose de nouveau et que je n’ai pas connu durant ma carrière. Michael van der Mark m’a impressionné cette année et Takumi Takahashi connaît très bien cette moto. Je suis donc impatient d’écouter ce qu’ils pourront m’en dire et de travailler avec eux pour préparer la course du mois de juillet. Je dois maintenant me concentrer sur mon entraînement afin d’être prêt pour la course ! »

Honda Racing Corporation are pleased to announce Casey Stoner’s return to racing in the 2015 Suzuka 8hr.

The two-time MotoGP Champion (2007 and 2011) will form part of Honda’s MuSASHi RT HARC-PRO three person team at this year’s Suzuka 8hr race, taking place on Sunday 26th July.

Casey, will be teammates with Honda’s World Superbike rider Michael van der Mark and fellow HRC test rider Takumi Takahashi, as they aim to claim the Honda's 6th consecutive win in the endurance event.
 
Casey Stoner:
“After riding the bike in Sepang a few months ago, I’ve been speaking closely with Honda about the possibility to take part in Suzuka. It’s always been an event I wanted to do and something I was never able to consider when I was racing in MotoGP, due to our busy schedules, so I’m really looking forward to taking part! The bike is very different to a MotoGP machine, but it will be a new challenge and a chance for me to try something new and unlike what I’ve been used to in my racing to this point. I’ve been impressed with Michael van der Mark this season and Takumi Takahashi has a lot of experience on this machine, so I’m looking forward to hearing their comments and working together with them in preparation for the July race. Now I need to concentrate on my training to be ready for the race!”

Prologue WEC ; PORSCHE CONCLUT UNE JOURNÉE PASSÉE AUX AVANT-POSTES / PORSCHE MAKE IT A CLEAN SWEEP AT TOP OF TIMES

Porsche a réalisé une performance de choix ce vendredi en terminant en tête des LMP1 à l’issue de la séance nocturne du Prologue du WEC, sur le Circuit Paul Ricard.

Alors que le soleil couchant donnait un relief doré aux environs du Circuit Paul Ricard, la Porsche 919 Hybrid n°18 pilotée par Neel Jani a terminé en haut de la feuille des temps, en 1:37.220.

Comme dans la session de l’après-midi, Porsche réalise un doublé avec ses LMP1-H, la n°17 suivant à bonne distance la voiture sœur, en 1:38.635.

Audi a poursuivi sa stratégie initiale en roulant peu mais a tout de même placé ses LMP1 aux troisième et quatrième places. La R18 e-tron quattro n°7 a devancé la n°8, grâce respectivement à Loïc Duval et Benoît Tréluyer.

Toyota a suivi dans la nuit varoise avec ses TS 040 Hybrid n°1 et n°2. Anthony Davidson a roulé en 1:40.378, quand Stéphane Sarrazin a terminé la session en 1:41.309.

KCMG a mis un terme à cette première séance sur une note encourageante en dominant la catégorie en 1:47.456.

Les catégories LMGTE ont vu se placer en tête une Ferrari AF Corse et Aston Martin Racing. En LMGTE Pro, James Calado s’est hissé en pole en 1:59.009, quand la catégorie Am a été dominée par Stuart Hall, le plus rapide au volant de l’Aston Martin Vantage V8 en 2:00.582.

Cette première journée de roulage a parfaitement lancé cette nouvelle saison du Championnat du Monde d’Endurance. Ce samedi, les équipes pourront confirmer leurs bonnes dispositions, devant un public attendu de 8000 passionnés, qui pourront entrer gratuitement et assister aux premières joutes d’une saison du WEC qui promet d’être disputée.

La première séance d’essais de 4 heures débutera à 9h00 CET. 

Porsche made it a clean sweep of leading the session times after the night-time running of the official Prologue WEC test at Circuit Paul Ricard today.

As the sun set creating a beautiful golden haze around the atmospheric Provencal track, the #18 Porsche 919 Hybrid driven by Neel Jani completed the fastest lap of the day on 1m37.220s.

Just like the afternoon session the Porsche LMP1-H team locked out the top two positions as the #17 Porsche 919 Hybrid placed second on 1m38.635s.

Audi continued to put limited laps on their new LMP1 cars but they still set third and fourth best times this evening. The #7 Audi R18 e-tron quattro slightly outpacing the #8 R18 e-tron quattro. Loic Duval and Benoit Treluyer set the respective best times tonight.

Toyota ran in to the night time with both the newly numbered #1 and #2 Toyota TS 040 HYRID LMP1-H designs. Anthony Davidson set the fifth fastest lap this evening with a 1m40.378s lap, while Stephane Sarrazin was just behind on 1m41.309s.

KCMG finished off a very encouraging first public day of testing as Matthew Howson topped the LMP2 category times in the electric-blue ORECA 05-Nissan with a 1m47.456s.

The LMGTE spoils fell to AF Corse Ferrari and Aston Martin Racing respectively. The Pro category saw James Calado complete a best of 1m59.009s, while Stuart Hall crossed the line to set a 2m00.582s best in the Aston Martin Vantage V8.

The first track action of the year burst in to life today and perfectly set-up more anticipation for great action on Saturday when over 8,000 spectators will visit the circuit, free of charge, to witness the birth of a great new WEC season.

The first of the two 4-hour sessions will begin at 09.00cet.

Supermoto : Jerez ouvre la saison 2015 / Jerez gets the ball rolling

Le coup d’envoi de la saison 2015 du Championnat du monde FIM Supermoto sera donné ce week-end à Jerez en Espagne.

Plus habitué à recevoir des courses de vitesse, Jerez accueille ce week-end la première épreuve du Championnat du monde FIM SuperMoto.

Champion du monde 2014, Thomas Chareyre (TM-Michelin) aura à cœur de défendre son troisième titre mondial acquis à l’issue d’une intense saison où il a dû batailler dur avec Mauno Hermunen (SHR – TM). Le  pilote finlandais, champion du monde en 2013, a laissé échapper le titre pour seulement quatre points.

Troisième du classement général en 2014, Ivan Lazzarini (L30 Racing – Honda) sera également un candidat sérieux à la victoire et au titre.

A noter l’absence d’Adrien Chareyre, quadruple champion du monde de la discipline (2011 (S1) – 2009 (S2) – 2008 (S2) – 2007 (S1)), qui a terminé quatrième au général la saison passée.

Michelin est de nouveau partenaire du Championnat du monde FIM SuperMoto cette année avec comme objectif d’ajouter une nouvelle couronne mondiale à son palmarès. Le manufacturier français équipe, entre autre, Thomas Chareyre, Christian Ravaglia (Assomotor – Honda), Jevon Vermeulen (MTR Team – KTM), Asseri Kingelin (Gazza Racing – Honda).

Outre l’objectif sportif, Michelin poursuit également son travail de développement comme le rappelle Piero Taramasso, responsable 2 roues Michelin Motorsport « Nous allons continuer de travailler sur le pneumatique avant désormais disponible en 16 pouces depuis 2014. Des nouvelles solutions seront également proposées au niveau des mélanges afin d’améliorer le grip et le comportement des pneus. »

Très peu de changements au niveau du règlement cette année. La Superpole (Super Chronos) va désormais réunir les six meilleurs pilotes à l’issue des qualifications au lieu de huit la saison précédente.

The 2015 FIM Supermoto World Championship kicks off this weekend at Jerez, Spain.

Although famed as a home of conventional circuit racing, Jerez is hosting the opening round of the 2015 FIM Supermoto World Championship this weekend.

Last year’s champ Thomas Chareyre (TM-Michelin) will be out to defend the third title he collected in 2014 after a thrilling fight that saw him finish just four points clear of Finland’s Mauno Hermunen (SHR-TM), the 2013 champion.

Ivan Lazzarini (L30 Racing-Honda), who took bronze in 2014, is another chief title contender this season.

The four-time SuperMoto world champion Adrien Chareyre (2011/S1, 2009/S2, 2008/S2, 2007/S1) will not be competing in this year’s series after coming fourth in 2014.

Michelin is once again a partner of the championship and is hoping to add another title to its record. Riders competing on its tyres include Thomas Chareyre, Christian Ravaglia (Assomotor-Honda), Jevon Vermeulen (MTR Team-KTM) and Asseri Kingelin (Gazza Racing-Honda).

In addition to its sporting goals, Michelin also plans to pursue its development work in the series. “We will carry on working on the 16-inch front tyre we introduced in 2014,” notes Piero Taramasso, the manager of Michelin Motorsport’s two-wheel programmes. “We will also have new compounds in order to deliver improved grip and handling.”

Among the few changes that have been made to the regulations since last year, the Superpole (Super Chronos) will now feature the six fastest riders from qualifying instead of eight in 2014.
