Porsche 918 Spyder production version to have 875 bhp
To be lighter than concept
A future Porsche 918 Spyder owner says the combined output of the powertrain will grow to 875 bhp (652 kW).
A TeamSpeed member (who also ordered the McLaren P1 and LaFerrari) says the combined output will rise from 795 bhp (593 kW) to 875 bhp (652 kW). This will be possible by uprating the V8 4.6-liter engine and we assume by tweaking the pair of electric motors.
He says the production version will look different than the concepts / pre-production models and most importantly, the car will be lighter than originally expected. The same source mentions it will be able to run the Nürburgring in less than seven minutes and drive on electric power for 150 km (93 miles).
Just like the 911 GT3, the new Porsche 918 Spyder will benefit from a four-wheel steering system, along with a targa top unlike its two competitors which have a fixed roof. Another member of the forum says Porsche will lose money with every 918 Spyder built and at the moment half of the cars have already been sold.
The production model will be reportedly shown in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Happy 90th birthday Geoff Duke
Today, March 29, 2013, Geoff Duke
celebrates his 90th birthday. The legendary British rider, who
dominated the scene in the early 50s with six world titles between 350
and 500 cc (including the ‘double‘ in 1951 with Norton
and three titles in the premier class with Gilera) and was one of the
first true ‘characters’ in the history of motorcycle racing, will
celebrate with his family at his home on the Isle of Man, where he made
his debut in 1948 at the Tourist Trophy.
In Manx Duke is regarded as a sort of
demi-God: in his career he collected six victories at the TT (including
3 Senior TT) while setting numerous on the mighty Mountain Course,
part of which now bears his name. In MotoGP Duke has won 33 of the 89
races he started, finishing his career in 1959 after a brief spell in
auto racing. Never forgetful of his numerous fans, Duke issued for the
occasion the following message:
“As I celebrate my 90th birthday on Good Friday, I just wanted to thank you all for your kind messages, cards and gifts. It is always a pleasure to receive a letter from a fan and wonderful to know there are so many of you out there who remember fondly my racing days.”
“Although I can’t make it to as many meetings as I have in the past, I am looking forward to the 2013 season, especially the Isle of Man TT, which, as many of you know, takes place not far from my home.”“As I mark my 90th birthday with my family, I will be recalling my career and remembering all the fans who played such a large part in it. Thank you all.”

Yamaha SR400 Custom
The Yamaha SR400 retro Japanese rocket has ruled the hearts of young Japanese motorcycle enthusiasts. The Yamaha SR400 chassis and engine serves as a popular base for many café racers, street trackers and even bobbers.
The Yamaha’s SR400 is the direct descended of the SR500, but with a shorter stroke and heavier muffler due to tighter emission restrictions. Our Japanese friends at Motor Rock are quite tempted with the SR400; with each custom project they always craft something unique.
The base for Motor Rocks customization was a stock Yamaha SR400, which has been stripped, chopped and grinded to adapt the bobber style. The structural modification includes a seat rail processed frame and swingarm. The stock engine was overhauled and features a Motor Rock air cleaner. The engine is also fitted with Motor Rock’s 69 megaphone exhaust. The fabrication work includes a one-off fuel tank, modified Estrella genuine rear fender and drilled sprocket cover.
At the front this custom Yamaha SR400 features Motor Rocks 69 drag style handlebar and a 69 type 1 switch fitted with KIJIMA Chopper grip. The popular bates headlight is an idol choice fitted with Motor Rock’s headlight stay and Kijima Old bullet winker.
The rear of this bike includes short progressive suspension, a 69tail type 1 taillight and license holder from Motor Rocks own catalog. Other parts from Motor Rock’s catalog is the 69 decompression lever and billet kick pedal.
The finished bike rolls on Motor Rock’s 21 inch front and 17 inch rear wheels wrapped in Avon SP MKII front and Dunlop tire at the rear.

Lexus LF-LC green-lighted for production
Confirmed by Vice President Of Marketing Brian Smith
Lexus' Vice President of Marketing, Brian Smith, has confirmed a production version of the 2012 LF-LC concept.
The concept debuted at last year's NAIAS in Detroit as a hybrid 2+2 sport coupe with a spindle grille, vertical fog lamps and L-shaped daytime running lights. It also had a glass roof, quad exhaust setup and afterburner tail lamps. The LF-LC had a rear-wheel drive, front-engine layout with an Advanced Lexus Hybrid Drive system.
It's not known where the model will be slotted in the firm's lineup but most likely it will be more expensive than most of them and available in limited quantities. Another mystery revolves around what will power the production model since Lexus could ditch the hybrid setup of the concept.
Smith added Lexus will still have several holes in its lineup to fill, hinting at future crossovers and SUVs which are increasingly popular all over the world.
