Today’s Epic Win video comes from Wisconsin, US, where local rider Ryan Suchanek has set a new record that got duly registered by the Guinness Book of Records. The attempt took place on the 5th February at Lake Koshkonong, the location choosen by Mr.Suchanek to beat his own record for the fastest wheelie ever performed on ice. And he did.
The new record is 152.89 km/h (95 mph) measured by the Guinness Book of Records guys on a stretch of 100 meters. Suchanek set the record riding a ‘05 Kawasaki ZX-6R suitably modified for the purpose, obviously fitted with special studded tires. In order to get the approval of the Guinness boys, Suchanek had to rely on the confirmations of two GPS units and a radar gun. These are the words from the new record holder (who has already confirmed that he will try to break his own new record next year):
from TWOWHEELSBLOG“You’ve got to make a tire that takes a while, you’ve got to get used to riding on the ice which isn’t easy,” Suchanek said. The thing is you never know what the weather’s going to be like.”
