    McLaren MP4-12C 1/4 Mile Drag Racing 10.55

    At 134.56 mph

A standard McLaren MP4-12C was able to run the quarter mile in 10.55 seconds at 134.56 mph (216.55 km/h).
The car had McLaren-fitted carbon ceramic brakes, sport exhaust and lightweight alloys with the factory-provided Pirelli P Zero tires measuring 305/30/20. The driver used launch control which allowed the MP4-12C jump to 60 mph (96 km/h) in a mere 2.9 seconds, while 0-100 mph (161 km/h) took 5.9 seconds. The in-car VBOX recorded a 60-130 mph (96-209 km/h) time of 6.59 seconds.
This achievement makes the McLaren MP4-12C quicker than a Lamborghini Aventador and the second fastest production car in the world in the quarter mile, after the all-mighty Bugatti Veyron. As a reminder, the MP4-12C has a twin-turbo 3.8-liter engine producing 608 HP (447 kW) at 7,000 rpm and a peak torque of 442 lb-ft (599 Nm) at 3,000 rpm, with 353 lb-ft (479 Nm) available from just 2,000 rpm.
The MP4-12C will probably relegate if someone with a McLaren P1 or a LaFerrari will decide to test the car's capabilities on the drag strip. In addition, we are waiting for the Porsche 918 Spyder to find out its exact performance numbers.
