I’m all over the web searching for new bike builders and found an absolute cracker with 7 Ages Custom Motorcycles. I was drawn in by the great website with really nice photography to make you want to digg deeper and find out what they are all about. I finally decided to post about the Romeo 80 1982 BMW R80 Custom Bike by 7Ages as it stood out as a really cool bike. I love the light blue graphics on this bike, it works perfectly with the gun metal grey and all the brushed metal on show. Did I mention that these guy’s are based in the UK!!
7 Ages said “I have always loved BMW Boxers, such solid and purposeful bikes. After spending so much time on Harleys I also really wanted to make something different. I picked up the base bike a 1982 R80 on Ebay for £1350, which had been restored by the original owners’ son – to an excellent standard.” A good start to a build is finder the right source bike and 7Ages picked a belter.
After getting hold of the ebay BMW they pulled it apart and kept all the bits they wanted to keep and clean up the engine, drive, tank, exhausts and controls. I absolutely love those huge 23″ snowflake wheels, made by Steve Taylor for me this makes the whole bike and give a really bad ass look! They replaced the frame on the BMW R80 Custom Bike with a new one made by Dave Batcherlat at P&D along with chopping the tank and fabricating the new sides and fenders. This is just an all round stunner and hopefully 7Ages will continue to make bikes like this in the future.
