Syrena Sport revived, limited production possible

    2013 Syrena Sport

Up to 450 bhp with Nissan 370Z engine

The Syrena Sport has been revived by constructor Rafal Czubaj and designer Pavlo Burkatskyy.
The classic FSO Syrena Sport came out in the late 50s and was a Polish sports car which never made it as a production model because of political and economical reasons. It was a two-door coupe featuring a fiberglass body on a steel chassis with a two-cylinder, four-stroke air-cooled boxer 700cc engine and an aluminum block. The engine produced 35 bhp (26 kW) which made the 710 kg (1,565 lbs) sportscar moderatly fast (for those days).

Now, the Syrena Sport moniker has been brought back to life and is envisioned with a lightweight body allowing the sports car to tip the scales at less than 1,300 kg (2,866 lbs). Power comes from a Nissan 370Z-sourced V6 3.7-liter engine which produces 330 bhp (246 kW) when naturally-aspirated and 450 bhp (335 kW) in turbocharged form.

The 2013 Syrena Sport is capable of performing the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 4.5 seconds, en route to a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h).
For the moment it will remain only as a one-off but if demand is strong, a limited production series will be considered.
