X-Trial : Tony Bou conclut en beauté / a perfect season for Tony Bou!

Crowned Indoor World Champion two weeks ago in Bielefeld, Tony Bou (Montesa Michelin) claimed this weekend in Nice its fifth and last success in the series. But it was tough affair for the World Champion, as Adam Raga (Gas Gas) wanted to secure the secure his second position in the series and was a strong opponent.

Assuré du titre Mondial Indoor depuis l’épreuve de Bielefeld, Tony Bou (Montesa Michelin) a remporté un cinquième et dernier succès ce weekend à Nice. Mais le champion du Monde a dû sortir le grand jeu face à un excellent Adam Raga (Gas Gas) qui s’est assuré la place de vice-champion.

There was no real issue for Tony Bou in this final round, but the reigning World Champion nearly failed to qualify for the final lap! He finally got the last qualifying spot after a strong fight with teammate Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa Michelin), and later Tony stamped his authority on the event. But Raga kept him true throughout the closing stages and applies the pressure, finishing the night only one point behind Bou! Bou stay unbeaten this season, while Raga finishes vice champion with this great result, and finally beats Albert Cabestany (Sherco Michelin) who is tight in the points with Jeroni Fajardo (Beta).

Dans cette finale sans enjeu pour lui, Tony Bou a bien failli assister au dernier tour depuis les tribunes, puisqu’il s’est qualifié in extremis au détriment de son équipier

En difficulté en début de soirée, Tony Bou allait comme toujours renverser la situation à son avantage dans la phase finale, seul Adam Raga parvenant à rester dans son sillage. En bagarre avec Albert Cabestany (Sherco Michelin) pour la place de vice champion, Raga allait livrer l’une de ses plus belles courses de la saison, n’échouant qu’à un petit point de Bou ! Vice champion du Monde, Raga devance Cabestany et Jeroni Fajardo (Beta), qui terminent à égalité de points.
