We’ve been following the Spyker’s development for a while now. Back in March we brought you word from the super car’s Geneva Motor Show launch and followed that up with news that the Dutch sports car maker was planning an open top version. Now we have some official renderings of the convertible variant.
Spyker chose Pebble Beach, California as the location to unveil the machine to the press, which fits with the sort of location that the machine will be used in. Spyker describe Pebble Beach as “the car’s natural habitat,” adding that they chose this location and time because “Car enthusiasts from around the globe descend upon exquisitely beautiful Pebble Beach for the Concours d’Elegance weekend.” Although the new machine has been official named theSpyker B6 Venator Spyder Concept, we understand that the green light has been given for production of the car that stays true to the B6 coupe’s shape.
The interior has also stayed pretty much as it is in the coupe except for Spyker’s mission statement which is written in Latin on the seats, “Nulla tenaci invia est via” or “For the tenacious no road is impassable.” The “turbofan” wheels from the coupe are here in the cabriolet and there been no upgrade to the 375bhp mid-mounted V-6 engine.
