The summer of 1975 saw Scandinavian model Winnie Hollman accompany photographer Helmut Newton on a maritime tour of the Cannes coastline – delighting not only the renowned cameraman, but also the crew of a passing boat in the process…

Taken as part of his ‘White Women’ series, the image is typically Newtonian – a cross between eroticism and luxurious decadence. ‘Winnie off the Coast of Cannes’, estimated to fetch 8,000-12,000 USD, is one of several Newtons set to go under the gavel at the Phillips auction on 1 April 2014 in New York.
