Out with the old, in with the new – Huet Brothers Coupe

For the last few years there has been a trend of updating vintage cars and with modern components.
The most notable and best cases of this are: the Icon Bronco’s, the Singer 911′s and the incredible Eagle Speedster E-Types. The idea is simple, take a old worn out car and completely rebuild it with new parts while updating it to modern standards. What you are left with is very desirable car but, unfortunately, an expensive one. Of course another option for those wanting something old are retro styled cars, such as the Morgan Aero and now the Huet Brothers Coupe.
In January, Heut Brothers showed some rendering of the Coupe and due to the great response continued the design, adjusting it into a feasible project. What they have come up with, is one of the coolest looking cars around. The design is basically an updated and modern take of the HB Special, their 1950′s Le Mans inspired race car. But has all the modern day comforts and safety features. It will be offered in 3 different models; the Classic, the Road Racer (seen here) and the RACE. All cars will come with a 6 speed manual gearbox and a limited slip differential. You have the choice of two engines, both 2.0 Liter 4 cylinders; the Standard 170hp or the Cosworth 255hp . The cars paint and interior will be completely customizable making each car completely individual for each customer. There will be a limited production run of 40 cars total, in 2014. Reservations will be based on a first come first serve production slot. So if you want one, you better be quick as 16 have already been reserved and 13 are pending.
