La première épreuve du Championnat du monde FIM d’Enduro s’est déroulée ce week-end au Chili. Antoine Meo (KTM-E2) a été le seul pilote à signer le doublé dans sa catégorie. Christophe Nambotin (KTM) et Eero Remes (TM) se sont partagés la victoire en E1. Mathias Bellino (Husqvarna/Michelin) et Matti Seistola (Sherco/Michelin) se sont également imposés en E3 alors que les victoires en Juniors sont revenues à Jamie McCanney (Husqvarna/Michelin) et Alessandro Battig (Honda).
Le soleil et la poussière du premier jour ont laissé place à la pluie pour la seconde journée qui a mis en difficulté certains leaders du samedi. Le parcours du dimanche a subi quelques changements avec l’annulation de l’Extrem test et la modification de l’Enduro test.
Pénalisé de dix secondes lors du SuperTest de vendredi soir, Christophe Nambotin a dominé la première journée. Marc Bourgeois (Yamaha), pour son retour en mondial, se classe deuxième alors que Daniel McCanney (Husqvarna/Michelin) arrache la troisième place à Eero Remes (TM).
Le lendemain, Remes, à l’aise sous la pluie, prend sa revanche en s’imposant devant Christophe Nambotin qui a chuté en début de journée. Daniel McCanney, champion du monde Juniors 2014, termine à nouveau troisième et devance les deux Yamaha officielles de Bourgeois et Cristobal Guerrero.
Avec une victoire et une deuxième place, Christophe Nambotin prend la tête du championnat E1 avec respectivement quatre et sept points d’avance sur Remes et Bourgeois.
En E2, Antoine Meo a signé le doublé. Profitant d’une erreur du champion du monde en titre, Pierre-Alexandre Renet (Husqvarna/Michelin), dans l’Enduro test, Meo en a profité pour s’imposer lors de la première journée. Renet sauve la deuxième place devant Alex Salvini (Honda) alors que Johnny Aubert (Beta/Michelin) termine au pied du podium.
Malgré des conditions bien différentes, le podium de la seconde journée reste identique avec Meo, Renet et Salvini.
Mathias Bellino a dominé la première journée en E3. Le Français devance Matti Seistola et le champion du monde en titre, Matthew Phillips (KTM). La pluie a complément redistribué les cartes le lendemain où la victoire est revenue à Seistola. Aigar Leok (TM) et Jonathan Barragan (Gas Gas) complètent le podium. Seistola est le leader du classement provisoire devant Bellino et Leok.
En Juniors, Jamie McCanney et Alessandro Battig ont chacun remporté une journée.

Antoine Meo (KTM-E2) was the only rider to claim both victories in his class at last weekend’s 2015 FIM Enduro World Championship opener in Chile. Christophe Nambotin (KTM) and Eero Remes (TM) shared the spoils in E1, while Mathias Bellino (Husqvarna/Michelin) and Matti Seistola (Sherco/Michelin) enjoyed a win apiece in E3. Junior victors were Jamie McCanney (Husqvarna/Michelin) and Alessandro Battig (Honda).
The first day of action was sunny and dusty, but rain on Day 2 made life difficult for some of Saturday’s front-runners. Sunday’s programme was also changed with the cancelation of the Extreme test and modifications to the Enduro test.
Despite taking a 10-second penalty on Friday evening’s SuperTest, Christophe Nambotin dominated Day 1, while Marc Bourgeois (Yamaha) celebrated his comeback to the world stage by securing second place, ahead of Daniel McCanney (Husqvarna/Michelin) who clinched third spot from Eero Remes (TM).
The next day, Remes revelled in the wet weather to finish clear of Nambotin who suffered an early fall. The 2014 Junior champion McCanney was third again, ahead of Yamaha factory riders Bourgeois and Cristobal Guerrero.
Thanks to his weekend’s work, Nambotin has taken command in the E1 standings, four and seven points clear of Remes and Bourgeois respectively.
Antoine Meo collected both E2 victories. The first day saw him take advantage of an error on the Enduro test by the defending world champion Pierre-Alexandre Renet (Husqvarna/Michelin) who still managed to hold on to second place, ahead of Alex Salvini (Honda) and Johnny Aubert (Beta/Michelin).
Despite the weather change, the top three was identical after Sunday’s competition (Meo, Renet and Salvini).
Mathias Bellino took an assertive victory on Day 1 in E3 after outclassing Matti Seistola and the 2014 champion Matthew Phillips (KTM). There was a different pecking order in the rain, however, when Seistola finished on top, chased by Aigar Leok (TM) and Jonathan Barragan (Gas Gas). Seistola leads the provisional standings, ahead of Bellino and Leok
Juniors Jamie McCanney and Alessandro Battig claimed one victory each.
Next round: Spanish Grand Prix (May 9-10).
