Thomas Chareyre (TM-Michelin) et Lukas Hollbacher (Husqvarna) se sont partagé la victoire à Villena, hôte de la cinquième épreuve du Championnat du monde FIM SuperMoto. Le Français prend la tête du classement général en l’absence de Mauno Hermunen (SHR – TM), blessé.
Deuxième sur la grille, Lukas Hollbacher a signé le holeshot lors de la première course devant le poleman, Thomas Chareyre. Mais l’Autrichien est tombé dès le premier tour et a rétrogradé à la 10ème position.
Chareyre en a profité pour prendre les commandes et creuser l’écart sur ses adversaires. Il a rallié l’arrivée avec une avance de plus de 17 secondes.
Pavel Kejmar a également profité de la chute d’Hollbacher pour s’emparer de la deuxième place. Ivan Lazzarini (L30 Racing – Honda) a complété le podium.
Hollbacher était revenu à la quatrième place avant de commettre une nouvelle erreur et de perdre une place aux dépens de Christian Ravaglia (Assomotor – Honda - Michelin).
Lukas Hollbacher a réalisé le meilleur départ de la deuxième manche et a mené l’intégralité des 15 tours. L’Autrichien s’impose pour la première fois de la saison.
Deuxième, Thomas Chareyre est parti à la faute au deuxième tour. Le Français a cravaché pour remonter à la deuxième place sous le drapeau à damier. Ivan Lazzarini et Christian Ravaglia ont terminé aux mêmes places qu’en première manche, troisième et quatrième. Devon Vermeulen (KTM – Michelin) s’est classé cinquième.
Au cumul des deux manches, Thomas Chareyre remporte le cinquième Grand Prix de la saison devant Lukas Hollbacher et Ivan Lazzarini.
Avec 211 points, Thomas Chareyre est le nouveau leader du classement général. Il devance Ivan Lazzarini (198 points) et Mauno Hermunen (188 points) qui devrait être absent pour une période de 12 semaines.
Thomas Chareyre (TM-Michelin) and Lukas Hollbacher (Husqvarna) took the wins at Villena, home of round five of the 2015 FIM SuperMoto World Championship. The absence of Mauno Hermunen (SHR-TM) through injury helped the Frenchman to emerge at the top of the points table.
Hollbacher pounced from second on the grid to get the holeshot in Race 1 ahead of pole-sitter Chareyre. The Austrian then fell on Lap 1, however, and dropped to 10th position.
This handed the lead to the TM rider who promptly pulled out a big gap to win by a margin of more than 17 seconds!
Pavel Kejmar also benefited from Hollbacher’s mishap to claim second place, with Ivan Lazzarini (L30 Racing-Honda) coming third.
Hollbacher succeeded in clawing his way back to fourth before another error allowed Christian Ravaglia (Assomotor-Honda-Michelin) to steal the position.
The Austrian was quick off the line again in Race 2 and this time he stayed in front for all 15 laps to collect his first victory of the season.
Chareyre had to settle for second spot after a mistake on Lap 2 which forced him to pull out all the stops. Lazzarini and Ravaglia were third and fourth once more, with fifth place ending up in the hands of Devon Vermeulen (KTM-Michelin).
Overall, the championship’s fifth grand prix was won by Chareyre, ahead of Hollbacher and Lazzarini.
Thomas Chareyre has gone clear at the top of the provisional standings on 211 points, ahead of Lazzarini (198) and Hermunen (188). The latter is expected to be out of action for 12 weeks.
