The first and last RHD Porsche 911 Turbo ‘Flatnoses’ to be sold at Silverstone

At its inaugural Porsche Sale, Silverstone Auctions will offer the very first and the very last right-hand-drive Porsche 930 SE Turbo ‘Flatnoses’ to leave the factory, among some 55 other classic and modern Porsches…
The 930 SE Turbo ‘Flatnose’ – otherwise known as the ‘Flachbau’ – was an ultra-desirable (and very expensive) optional extra offered by Porsche in the latter half of the 1980s, for those who wanted their 911 Turbo to really stand out. Delivered new to Porsche GB in 1985, the first right-hand-drive example was painted in metallic silver, and featured special extras such as ‘Can-Can Red’ leather Recaro seats and a 30bhp performance upgrade (from 300 to 330bhp). Having covered just 33,500 miles, it’s estimated to fetch £150,000-170,000.
Built in 1989, the final right-hand-drive ‘Flatnose’ is estimated at the same price, and boasts both particularly attractive ‘Baltic Blue’ paint (with matching wheel centres) and a pinstriped ‘Marine Blue’ leather interior. Either car would surely make a worthy addition to any collection, with only 50 right-hand-drive ‘Flatnoses’ delivered to the UK. Other highlights from the 59-lot sale include aTouring-spec 911 Carrera 2.7 RS (£375,000-425,000), a rare 996 GT2 (£115,000-130,000) and astriking black/tan 356A Coupé (£50,000-60,000).
