What’s the best way to stand out in the historic racing paddock? With a transporter that’s as much of a conversation-starter as the car in which you’re racing, of course. Auctionata will offer this quirky duo at its Porsche Only sale in December…

The car pictured started life as a 1977 Porsche 930, before it underwent an extensive conversion into a monstrous Group 5 935 racer in 2000. Included in the myriad modifications were an upgraded 3.2-litre turbocharged engine, developing 610HP, a reinforced body shell with rollcage, and an adjustable spoiler. Allegedly ready to race in historic Group 5 races, it’s offered together with the Magirus transporter, said to be modelled on the famous Mercedes-Benz period Porsche transporter, which wears the same distinctive livery. With a lifting capacity of 1,500kg (sufficient for almost any historic Porsche racer), it could prove the perfect part of your motorsport operation, and a recognisable hub from which to coordinate your weekend’s racing. Auctionata has attached a pre-sale estimate of 250,000-300,000 euros.
