World RX Inside - Family Business
Team Peugeot Hansen takes the family atmosphere that prevails across the world rallycross fraternity to the extreme. Spend minutes with the outfit and you’ll quickly understand that its organigram reads more like a family tree.
Team Principal Kenneth Hansen, winner of 14 European rallycross titles in the days before the world championship was created, stands out as the team’s figurehead. He is ably assisted by Team Manager Susann, his wife and the only lady European Rallycross championship winner. Meanwhile, their eldest son Timmy is one of the team’s drivers, and you never need to look far to spot his younger brother, Kevin, recent winner of this year’s RX Lites crown for Peugeot Red Bull Hansen Junior Team. When not competing in the curtain-raising series, he’s always around helping out, under the watchful eye of his grandparents… Indeed, Susann’s mother and father are part of the adventure, too: mum Liliane looks after hospitality and Thord drives one of the trucks.
Yet far from forming a reclusive clan, the Hansens couldn’t be more welcoming when it comes to making mechanics, other drivers and technical staff feel at home. “They’ve literally adopted me,” smiles Davy Jeanney who joined the team at the beginning of 2015. You only had to witness the spontaneous joy of Timmy when his French team-mate won two races this season to realise that Team Peugeot Hansen is effectively one big happy family!
