Goes into production later this year
SRT has taken the wraps off their new Viper TA (Time Attack).
Designed to battle the Corvette ZR1, the TA is a track-focused sports car that was developed in collaboration with professional road racers.
Given its purpose-built mission, the model is equipped with a track-oriented suspension that has revised springs, dampers and stabilizer bars. There's also a carbon fiber X-brace, high-performance Brembo brakes and an optimized Bilstein DampTronic suspension system with firmer settings and a smaller spread between modes.
On the styling front, the model is distinguished by an exclusive TA Orange exterior with black Stryker logos and matte black 'Sidewinder II' wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires. There's also a carbon fiber front splitter as well as a rear spoiler and rear fascia appliqué.
Interior changes include orange accent stitching on the seats, instrument panel, center console and steering wheel.
Like the standard model, the TA is powered by an 8.4-liter V10 engine that develops 640 bhp (477 kW) and 600 lb-ft (814 Nm) of torque. Detailed performance specifications were not released, but the standard Viper accelerates from 0-60 mph in the "low 3-second range" and has a top speed of 206 mph (331 km/h).
