BMW K100 CAFE RACER BY ROLLING BONES MOTORCYCLE CLUB

I’m a great lover of BMW bikes but when you create a BMW K100 Cafe Racer like the guys at Rolling Bones Motorcycle Club you’ve already got me hooked. The featured bike is one of the project bikes built by these guy’s to showcase there talents and what the club can do for you. Rolling bones bike club is the brainchild of two long time, middle aged friends with a passion for classic cars and motorcycles. The idea was and still is to spread the Café culture by offering ready made BMW racers, or by assisting builders with ideas, know how and procurement and access to a fully outfitted workshop… all at reasonable prices. So the goal was not to make a living from it ( we both have jobs ) but to help others that might not have the mechanical know how, accessing the wonderful world of Café Racers. It’s a fantastic idea, I take my hat of to these guys for setting the club up to help others and help get more cafe racers on the road.
The BMW Project bike is excellent and it’s really nice to see the K model used in a cafe racer build. Rolling Bones want people to recognised the K models and not just the R´s as a fine platform for a café build. The K100 out performs the R100 in terms of brute power, and further more the K100 engine looks very raw and it’s massive when striped of all the plastics they originally throw on it.
1003392_161712757364739_37723384_nWith the build taking 3 months it was never originally going to be a cafe racer but a streetfighter with a motocross style front and a very short rear end.  The build includes a total stripping of the original plastics, new front end based on the original fork, wheel and brakes, new electrical system, new headlight and instruments, chopping of the rear frame, new and custom built back end and hand made leather seat. Led tail light, as wide as possible rear tire, aftermarket performance exhaust, and a lot of fitting and other time consuming details. A lot of work has gone into this bike and it shows, it’s a gorgeous example of a BMW K100 and hopefully will psh more garages to stear away from the BMW R series. I can’t wait for the next project bike to come from Rolling Bones Motorcycle Club, loving your work guys.
