BY MOTO VERSO
If you have ever finished a motorcycle project, stood back and thought it just needs that finishing touch. I think I have just found the answer, a custom painted motorcycle tank by Clement de Bruin would work with any custom project. Based in Cape Town, South Africa Clement de Bruin specialises in illustration, graphic design and typography with a unique style that fits perfectly into the custom bike environment. The fact that this tank has had a clear coat on it makes it really look cool, I think we will start seeing more and more hand painted motorcycle tanks in the future especially with more graphics like this.
Stumbling across this cool tank has inspired me to create a new category for Moto Verso to showcase custom painted motorcycle tanks and share what I find. They are truly a piece of art and probably don’t get the credit that they deserve. If you have a tank that you want showcasing on the site and feel that it fits in with the style of the blog then drop me an email and I get it posted. Whether it’s hand painted, airbrushed or custom metal work I’ve been inspired to seek out new and exciting work.
With a blank tank as your canvas Clement laid down perfectly finished hand painted white and electric cyan graphics using his skills with typography to create the most amazing tank paint. The style would fit perfectly with a rat bike and give it a very urban feel with almost a graphite feel transferred from the wall to your ride. If you read this Clement, you should do lots more of these and show the world that you can put anything onto a tank that doesn’t have to be flames or an eagle.
