A small but select catalogue of 36 cars comprises Auctionata’s latest Classic Cars sale, taking place tomorrow (24 November) in Berlin. From the broad variety of affordable classics, we’ve chosen our three favourites in which to whisk the family away this Christmas…
1970 Citroën DS 20 Familiale
It was a tough choice between the 1970 Citroēn DS 20 and the gorgeous burgundy SM, but given that the lust generated by our recent feature on the ‘Goddess’ is still fresh in the memory, it had to be the former. What’s more, it’s an ultra-cool Familiale estate model, complete with roof racks and eight (yes, eight) seats – ideal for that family Christmas getaway. Presented in a pretty and understated soft grey (over brown leather), the car is estimated to fetch 22,000-25,000 euros.
1966 Fiat 600
If the DS was France’s take on the family estate, this was Italy’s – we think you could fit five in, at a push. Amazingly, this 1966 ‘Seicento’ has allegedly had only one previous owner, who clearly enjoyed the car to the fullest given its recorded 66,000 miles. Auctionata has attached a pre-sale estimate of 8,000-10,000 euros.
1949 Tatra 600 Tatraplan
Estimated at 40,000-42,000 euros and one of around 15 believed to be registered in Germany, this sleek and stealthy Tatra 600 Tatraplan was recently restored, and looks fabulous both inside and out. We particularly like the rich, lipstick-red velour upholstery, signifying this car’s luxury intentions.
