FIA WEC: Les premiers invités au Mans/ First invited entries for Le Mans 2016 named

L’Automobile Club de l’Ouest a dévoilé une première liste d’invités à participer aux essais qualificatifs des 24 Heures du Mans 2016 (18/19 juin).

A l’issue du Championnat du monde d’Endurance FIA 2015, de l’European Le Mans Series 2015 et de l’Asian Le Mans Series 2015/2016, l’ACO a pu dévoiler une liste de 15 équipes invitées d’office à la 84^e édition des 24 Heures du Mans.

Vainqueur au Mans l’an passé, Porsche reçoit une invitation en catégorie LM P1. Idem pour KCMG en LM P2, Corvette Racing en LM GTE Pro et SMP Racing en LM GTE Am.

Champion LM P2 en ELMS, Greaves Motorsport est invité dans cette même catégorie au Mans. Formula Racing et Team Marc VDS pourront s’engager soit en LM GTE Pro, soit en LM GTE Am. Vainqueur en GTC, TDS Racing est invité en LM GTE Am. Le Team LNT, champion dans la nouvelle catégorie LM P3, est attendu dans la Sarthe en LM P2.

Le Tudor United SportCar Championship a attribué deux places pour Le Mans : Michael Shank Racing en LM P2 et la Scuderia Corsa en LM GTE Am.

L’Asian Le Mans Series, qui s’est achevée le week-end dernier à Sepang, envoie trois équipes au Mans : Race Performance, champion en LM P2, Clearwater Racing, champion en GT (invitation en LM GTE Pro ou Am) et DC Racing, lauréat en LM P3 (invitation en LM P2 et LM GTE Am).

Les listes des invités aux 24 Heures du Mans et des engagées en FIA WEC et ELMS 2016 seront dévoilées le 5 février.

The ACO (Automobile Club de l’Ouest) has revealed an initial list of the teams it has invited to take part in qualifying for the 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours (June 18-19).

Following completion of the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship, 2015 European Le Mans Series and 2015/2016 Asian Le Mans Series, the ACO has listed the 15 teams which have earned automatic invitations to take part in the 84^th running of the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Victory at last year’s race has given Porsche an entry in LM P1, while KCMG, Corvette Racing and SMP Racing are similarly included for their respective successes in LM P2, LM GTE Pro and LM GTE Am last June.

The 2015 ELMS’s LM P2 champion Greaves Motorsport is guaranteed a slot in the same class at Le Mans, while Formula Racing and Team Marc VDS will be able to run a car in either LM GTE Pro or LM GTE Am. The championship’s GTC winner TDS Racing is invited to contest the LM GTE Am class. Team LNT, which won the new LM P3 class, is expected to compete in LM P2.

There are two entries for 2015 Tudor United SportsCar Championship contestants, namely Michael Shank Racing (LM P2) and Scuderia Corsa (LM GTE Am).

The Asian Le Mans Series, which ended last weekend in Sepang, Malaysia, will be represented by three teams at Le Mans, namely the LM P2 champion Race Performance, Clearwater Racing (GT champion) - which has an entry in either LM GTE Pro or LM GTE Am - and DC Racing (LM P3) which has the choice between LM P2 and LM GTE Am at Le Mans.

The complete lists of teams invited to contest the 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours and teams registered for the 2016 FIA WEC and ELMS will be published on February 5.
