This is a great look back at another taxing RAC Rally of the Tests. It’s relentless nature really taking crews to the limit as they try to catch their breath between the regularities and endless tests. Recreated in the same original rally format as in the fifties and sixties, crews give a nod to the golden era of rallying as they dress in the style of the times before climbing into their classic rally cars from traditional rallying days.
This video in the new shorter format reflects on a great three way fight between winners by just 22 seconds Paul Wignall and Mark Appleton in their Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint from Dan Willan and Martyn Taylor who threw their Volvo PV544 around in their efforts to win. Third was Steve Entwistle and Ali Procter in the Morris Mini Cooper S which also challenged hard during this superb event. The competitive nature of the rally is portrayed in the video, including the really tough tasks set by the organisers which kept the hard working navigators on their toes.
