Film star Elizabeth Taylor, the Shah of Iran and Prince Rainier of Monaco — all were to own examples of the most famous powerboat in the world, a Riva. It’s no wonder, then, that the classic wooden boats built on Lake Iseo are as popular as ever.
We found a fine example from Classic Driver dealer ‘Classic Boats Amsterdam’. It’s a Tritone, named after Triton (Tritone in Italian), the son of Poseidon and Aphrodite in Greek mythology.
This example, hull number 220, was built in 1963 and is powered by two, big-block Chrysler V8s.
It’s in the final stages of restoration and priced at 350,000 euros.
