Scarcely recognisable as the BMW R100 RS upon which it is based, this custom café racer utilises as few aftermarket parts as possible, in order to demonstrate the skills of its first-time builder…
Land-based tender
This custom BMW R100 RS is the first (and we suspect not the last) motorcycle to come from Côte d’Azur-based Ortolani Customs, a business best known until now for its classic car restorations. The elegant bike’s frame has been reengineered to accommodate a more minimal mono-shock rear suspension system. Coupled with the hand-fabricated stainless-steel exhaust and the pert aluminium tail section, the overall design is wonderfully well packaged, allowing you to focus more on details such as the intricate pin-striping on the vintage fuel tank, the French yellow-tinted headlight, or the tasteful metal BMW badge studded into the deep oxblood leather saddle. With spring fast approaching, we can’t think of a better land-based tender for your super yacht moored on the Riviera.
