The fastest estate in the company's history
Vauxhall has announced plans to offer a new VXR8 Tourer in the United Kingdom.
Based on the outgoing Holden VE Commodore, the VXR8 is designed to haul more than just groceries as it is equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 engine that develops 431 HP (317 kW). It is connected to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission which enables the wagon to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds and hit an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
Like the GTS and Maloo, the Tourer has an aggressive front bumper with black accents and LED daytime running lights. The model is also equipped with ventilated front fenders, a bi-modal exhaust system and 20-inch alloy wheels.
The interior comes nicely equipped with leather seats, alloy pedals and an infotainment system with Bluetooth/iPod/USB/AUX connectivity. The boot holds 895 liters (31.6 cubic feet) of luggage which can be expanded to 2,000 liters (70.6 cubic feet) when the rear seats are folded down.
The Vauxhall VXR8 Tourer comes with a lifetime warranty and will be priced from £49,500.
