The second race of the day at MotorLand Aragon was a carbon copy of race 1, with Kawasaki Racing Team riders Tom Sykes and Loris Baz dominating in the Spanish sun.
Baz who had been unable to stick with his team mate in the opening race looked a lot more comfortable this afternoon as did Marco Melandri (Aprilia Racing Team) who was incredibly fast at the end of the race, closing down the two green machines rapidly to put himself in the hunt for the victory.
In a spectacular final three laps the three riders exchanged places a number of times with the deciding move coming at the final hairpin at the Aprilia of Melandri went wide allowing Sykes and Baz to claim a 1-2 finish for the second time today. Melandri finished 3rd.
Sylvain Guintoli (Aprilia Racing Team) was 4th, with race one podum finisher Jonathan Rea (Pata Honda World Superbike Team) and Eugene Laverty (Voltcom Crescent Suzuki) completing the top 6.
Race one EVO winner Leon Camier (BMW Motorrad Italia) was involved in a race long dual with Althea Racing Ducati’s Niccolo Canepa and local rider David Salom (Kawasaki Racing Team) with Salom taking the EVO honours after a last lap mistake from the BMW rider dropped him to 12th overall, handing the category victory to the local rider ahead of Canepa.
Alex Lowes (Voltcom Crescent Suzuki), Chaz Davies (Ducati Superbike Team), Claudio Corti (MV Agusta RC – Yakhnich Motorsport) and Jeremy Guarnoni (MRS Kawasaki) all fell without injury.

La seconde course de la catégorie Superbike au MotorLand Aragón ressemblait trait pour trait à la première, avec une victoire légitime de Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) et une seconde place plus disputée de son coéquipier Loris Baz (Kawasaki Racing Team).
La différence majeure s'est incarnée en la personne de Marco Melandri (Aprilia Racing Team), qui après une remontée spectaculaire, est venu jouer les trouble-fête : d'abord troisième puis second, stoppant net les assauts de Baz sur Sykes, il tente une attaque sur le leader dans le dernier tour mais manque son freinage, et doit se contenter de la dernière marche du podium.
Une spectaculaire lutte pour la victoire dans les trois derniers tours, à laquelle Sylvain Guintoli (Aprilia Racing Team) n'a pas pu prendre part. Après un départ encore moyen, il parvient tout de même à devancer Jonathan Rea (Pata Honda World Supersport Team), Eugene Laverty (Voltcom Crescent Suzuki) et Davide Giugliano (Ducati Superbike Team) au prix de nombreux dépassements, mais échoue au pied du podium.
En EVO, le gagnant n'est cependant pas le même qu'en première manche : Leon Camier (BMW Motorrad Italia) a pourtant longtemps lutté aux côtés de Niccolò Canepa (Althea Racing) et de David Salom (Kawasaki Racing Team), mais suite à une sortie de piste, il doit laisser à ses adversaires les dixième et onzième places. David Salom remporte donc la victoire tandis que Jérémy Guarnoni (MRS Kawasaki) abandonne sur chute et que Fabien Foret (Mahi Racing Team India) termine quinzième, marquant un point.
La saison 2014 continue dans deux semaines aux Pays-Bas, à Assen, où Sykes arrivera avec quatre points d'avance sur Baz et onze sur Guintoli.
