BMW HP2 Sport SpeedCruiser by Wunderlich

BMW HP2 Sport SpeedCruiser by Wunderlich
We just talked about the special relationship between German after-market company Wunderlich and talented French designer Nicolas Petit just a few days ago, when we presented the wicked BMW R1200S Wunderlich Concept (a graphic rendition of a sportsbike powered by the new air- and water-cooled boxer engine of the latest R1200 GS) and, before that, when we introduced the jaw-dropping S1000 RR “Mad Max”.
The first actual outcome of this partnership actually came out about a year ago, and it was this awesome BMW HP2 Sport SpeedCruiser, a special rendition of the HP2 Sport created by the French designer and then brought to life by the German masters. The term ‘Wunderlich’ in German means ‘wonderful’, and looking at what they were able to do with this bike we understand why: this HP2 Sport SpeedCruiser presented itself as a wicked street-fighter that had lost none of its original BMW appeal, with many hallmarks of the Bavarian house that were still clearly recognizable in spite of the unique design of the model.
Apparently, one of the main problems for the engineers when it came to convert the concept on paper into a real bike was to effectively integrate the typical telelever front suspension of HP2 in the initial concept, but as you can see from the pictures featured in our photo galleryMonsieur Petit got that brilliantly sorted out in his favor. The changes to the bike are numerous and include a new tank, new saddle and unusual head- and tail-lights (check out the diminutive one at the back, at the end of the saddle). All these modifications are available as a whole with a special ‘SpeedCruiser’ kit that can be installed with no changes to either the frame, the chassis or the engine. In addition, other optional parts can be added to this kit by choosing from the vast Wunderlich catalogue, that can be consulted through the officialWunderlich website.
