    THE CLA45 AMG GOES RACING

We are still around a week away from the opening of the Frankfurt Motor Show, and already the debuts are starting to pop up. In addition to theAudi Sport Quattro Concept we saw earlier today, Mercedes-Benz has announced that it will be showing off the new ‘CLA45 AMG Racing Series’.
The car is of course based on the road-going CLA45 AMG, which is powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an AWD drivetrain.
Although AMG has yet to release any official specs on the car, it certainly appears to be designed for genuine competition use rather than just looking pretty on a show stand – perhaps a one-make championship?
In addition to the functional aerodynamic modifications on the exterior, the cockpit of the CLA45 AMG Racing Series also looks like it’s ready for action.
We should certainly know more about the car when the Frankfurt show kicks off next week, but if first impressions are anything to go by, the CLA45 AMG Racing Series looks pretty exciting!

Mercedes GLK takes on every kind of surface in new video

Mercedes-Benz has released a new video starring its fierce GLK, the compact luxury crossover SUV from the three pointed star house which debuted in 2008 and still is one of the strongest and best-selling models of his segment after the 2012 cosmetic upgrade launched at the 2012 New York Auto Show and labelled ‘Model Year 2013′.
The model is currently available on the markets worldwide with an engine line-up made of six diesel models and one petrol engine. Five of them are four-culinder units: the GLK 200 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY (140 hp), the GLK 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY (170 hp), the GLK 220 CDI 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY (170 hp), the GLK 220 BlueTEC 4MATIC (170 hp) and the GLK 250 BlueTEC 4MATIC (204 hp). The other two are V6s: the GLK 350 CDI 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY (265 hp) and the range topping and only petrol option, the GLK 350 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY, which delivers 306 horsepower, can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 238 km/h.
In terms of aesthetics, the facelifted GLK is easily distinguishable from the previous model by the new front bumper fascia with newly-designed fog-lights and revised LED headlights. The wheels have also be refreshed as well as the taillights. GLK buyers will also have the opportunity to purchase an AMG Exterior Sports package that provides for AMG front and rear aprons, radiator grille with chrome accents, AMG LED daytime-driving lights, 19-inch AMG 5-spoke light-alloy wheels and sportier suspension.

BMW K100 CAFE RACER BY ROLLING BONES MOTORCYCLE CLUB

I’m a great lover of BMW bikes but when you create a BMW K100 Cafe Racer like the guys at Rolling Bones Motorcycle Club you’ve already got me hooked. The featured bike is one of the project bikes built by these guy’s to showcase there talents and what the club can do for you. Rolling bones bike club is the brainchild of two long time, middle aged friends with a passion for classic cars and motorcycles. The idea was and still is to spread the Café culture by offering ready made BMW racers, or by assisting builders with ideas, know how and procurement and access to a fully outfitted workshop… all at reasonable prices. So the goal was not to make a living from it ( we both have jobs ) but to help others that might not have the mechanical know how, accessing the wonderful world of Café Racers. It’s a fantastic idea, I take my hat of to these guys for setting the club up to help others and help get more cafe racers on the road.
The BMW Project bike is excellent and it’s really nice to see the K model used in a cafe racer build. Rolling Bones want people to recognised the K models and not just the R´s as a fine platform for a café build. The K100 out performs the R100 in terms of brute power, and further more the K100 engine looks very raw and it’s massive when striped of all the plastics they originally throw on it.
1003392_161712757364739_37723384_nWith the build taking 3 months it was never originally going to be a cafe racer but a streetfighter with a motocross style front and a very short rear end.  The build includes a total stripping of the original plastics, new front end based on the original fork, wheel and brakes, new electrical system, new headlight and instruments, chopping of the rear frame, new and custom built back end and hand made leather seat. Led tail light, as wide as possible rear tire, aftermarket performance exhaust, and a lot of fitting and other time consuming details. A lot of work has gone into this bike and it shows, it’s a gorgeous example of a BMW K100 and hopefully will psh more garages to stear away from the BMW R series. I can’t wait for the next project bike to come from Rolling Bones Motorcycle Club, loving your work guys.
