Bruce Willis to auction personal motorcycle collection for charity
If you are a real ‘Die Hard’ motorcycle collector, you can’t miss the opportunity on bidding on one of the five personal motorcycles that action film star Bruce Willis will be donating for charity which will benefit veterans and wounded combat troops through the Boot Campaign, a non-profit military appreciation and support campaign based in Texas.
The five bikes to be auctioned will be a: 1962 Cushman Eagle
, a 1972 Harley Davidson Ironhead Sportster XLH, a 1988 Yamaha TW,
a 1991 Yamaha XT 350
and a 2005 Ducati 1000DS (with only 285 miles on it).
The charity auction started this month on charitybuzz.com and each bike will be auctioned for one month only.
Bruce Willis who was born an Army brat said, “I wanted to use my bikes in a way that would benefit our military service members, and I am thankful to have found the Boot Campaign as the catalyst for using my bikes in a way that will give back to our country’s true heroes. These bikes have been a lot of fun to ride, and my hope is they can do a lot of good for our veterans.”

FACTORY 5 GTM
The Factory 5 GTM Supercar is the American answer to the highly-acclaimed, British made Ultima GTR. Both are kit built supercars with a mid-mounted engine, space-frame chassis, fibreglass body shell and a top speed that’ll make your eyes water. Both cars are capable, rather easily, of embarrassing any supercar you throw at them and both can be built for a relatively paltry sum (if you compare price tags with the Ferrari Enzos of the world).
The basic Factory 5 GTM kit costs $20,990 USD, once you have it you’ll need to source a 1997-2004 Chevrolet C5 Corvette as an engine/suspension donor and get your hands on either a Porsche G50 or a Mendeola 5 speed transmission. Factory 5 says that the average build time for the GTM is about 600 hours and the average total cost is about $50,000 USD depending on the final specifications that you choose and how cheaply you can source a C5.
The performance specifications of the GTM were tested by Car and Driver Magazine in 2007, the GTM had a recorded 0-60 time of 3.0 seconds and a 1/4 mile time of 11.0 seconds (with a 450 hp engine installed).
If you’ve been looking for a winter project and you’ve got access to an old C5 Corvette, you might want to click the link and visit the official Factory 5 website here.
