    Cars I See – 1984 Porsche 930

This is a story of one man’s 28 year journey to own a Porsche 930. Jim Goodlett’s 1984 grey market 930 Turbo is a beautiful example of a classic Porsche 911, but it also represents the accomplishment of a goal he set for himself as a young man who could only dream of one day owning this supercar.
Many thanks to Jim Goodlett for sharing his time and his story.
Keep up with Cars I See at facebook.com/CarsISee for behind the scenes and a look at what I’m working on next!
This is the third episode in a series I’m working on about cool cars and the stories behind them. I’m currently working on more episodes and am looking for any interesting car stories. If you have one, I’d love to hear about it! You can contact me by email atfrazer@frazerspowart.net.

Nissan 370Z Nismo to participate at 2013 Gumball 3000 Rally

    Starts on Saturday

Nissan has revealed its 370Z Nismo for this year's Gumball 3000 Rally which will kick off on Saturday in Copenhagen.
For the 2013 event they have joined forces with French publishing house L'Ecurie and INTERSECTION Magazine. As a reminder, Gumball is a pan-European, non-competitive parade of mostly exotic cars which was initiated back in 1999.

The 370 Nismo has been entered as car 56 as a throwback to the "Garage 56" category which Nissan filled at last year's Le Mans 24-hour race with the DeltaWing. Speaking of Le Mans, Nissan will return next year "with a pioneer race car" co-developed with Nismo.

    Maccomotors Monty 75

    Maccomotors Montessa Lside
When Miguel first came to Tito & Jose of Maccomotors in Spain, they were just finishing up their chunky Kawasaki 1100ST so his little red Montessa 75 was about to take them to the opposite end of the scale in cubic centimeters, but with no less effort or attention to detail. As they put it – “from a thoroughbred horse to a grasshopper
    Maccomotors Montessa Donor
It was a 1976 Enduro 75L which had been sitting around in his garage for years, and didn’t run. Miguel wanted the bike fixed up and customised, but he also wanted to preserve the essence of the bike… “I want your touch on it, but I want people to say; that´s a Montesa enduro…. uhmmm, isn´t it?”

Their plan was to turn the bike into a street tracker, and to retain the Montessa red paint but in a richer, more glossy tone.
    Maccomotors Montessa Rside
The bike was stripped, rebuilt – including the engine – and refinished with all parts replaced or upgraded where needed. Original hoop sizes were retained and wear mis-matched Pirelli knobblies. Uprated rear Marzocchi E81 shocks help keep both wheels on the ground, while a simple white-wrapped reverse cone exhaust takes care of the sound-track.

Wide, flat Rizoma bars, simple clocks and switchgear are compulsory for a smart modern street custom, as is the maccomotors-built cutdown seat.

Could she be any skinnier? The slim profile and light weight would make this the perfect city commuter.
