1958 Lambretta TV 175

In response to the Piaggio Vespa, Innocnti Lambretta kept the name of their factory in Lambrate, on the outskirts of Milan. They had their success with their intelligent design, good performance and high reliability. The range was spearheaded by the LD model, a fully faired scooter that was available in 125 and 150cc variants. In 1957, the new TV 175 was equipped with a horizontal engine and a front fender that did not rotate with the handlebars. The letters TV meant "Turismo Veloce", reflecting the personality of a more "sporting" version of this scooter!
This Lambretta TV 175 scooter is part of the second series built by Lambretta (Innocenti). Of particular interest is that the scooter is equipped with a sidecar. It is rare today to find such a combo in such a fine state, but then this one was restored in Italy about a dozen-odd years ago. Very attractive in its pale yellow and cream coloured two-tone hues, this pretty little sidecar comes with a door pocket and spare wheel.

NORTON MODEL 50 BY HEIWA

The Norton Model 50 was originally put into production in 1933, the bike was designed by Edgar Franks – the talented if not a little before his time engineer who would oversee the creation of the Manx Norton, the Norton Featherbed frame and the first telescopic forks for use on a production Norton motorcycle.

This custom Norton Model 50 by Heiwa Motorcycles has taken the creation of Edgar Franks and (dare I say it) made it even more beautiful. That 348cc single cylinder engine is a work of art by any measure and the custom frame developed by Heiwa seems to show it off even better than the original.

The single down-tube frame design coupled with the circular crankcase on the Model 50′s engine give the bike an almost board-tracker feel, with hefty doses brushed steel, brass fittings and a minimalist design aesthetic that’d impress even the likes of John Pawson.

Heiwa Motorcycles is based in the city of Hiroshima, they are one of the most fascinating custom motorcycle garages in Japan in my view, and I know that’s quite a statement. The team at Heiwa work on all the famous Japanese motorcycle brands but also work on Nortons, BSAs, AJSs and Triumphs. Their work is often denoted by a low seat height, very clean, minimalist structures and an almost pathological attention to detail.

This bike’s custom fuel tank is a standout feature along with that fitted oil tank under the seat, that custom single-pipe exhaust is a thing of beauty – the way it’s been shaped to flow along the side of the engine without covering up any of the nice shiny parts is a well thought out plus.

RED BULL RING : JK VERNAY CHEZ IMSA PERFORMANCE MATMUT.

Wolf Henzler retenu en ALMS, Patrice Milesi sera secondé par Jean-Karl Vernay pour la troisième manche de l'ELMS sur le circuit du Red Bull Ring. Après Wolf Henzler pour le lancement de la saison et Patrick Long lors de la manche d'Imola, Patrice Milesi disputera la troisième manche de l'ELMS avec un troisième équipier, l'un des pilotes habituels de la Porsche GT3 RSR n°76 en championnat du monde d'endurance, le lyonnais Jean-Karl Vernay. Le récent vainqueur des 24 heures du Mans GTE-Am découvrira donc un troisième championnat cette année après le championnat WEC et la Porsche Supercup.

INTERVIEW

Patrice Milesi ■ : " Jean-Karl sera mon troisième équipier en 4 courses. C'est très intéressant de voir les approches de différents pilotes professionnels pour un gentleman driver. Wolf et Patrick m'ont déjà beaucoup apporté, je suis sûr qu'il en sera de même avec Jean-Karl. Les équipages de la 67 et de la 76 sont restés très soudés toute la semaine du Mans, on se connait déjà bien avec Jean-Karl et je sais qu'ensemble nous ferons du bon travail "

Jean-Karl Vernay ■ : " Quand j'ai appris qu'il y avait une place de libre dans le baquet de la 67 pour le Red Bull Ring, j'ai immédiatement proposé mes services à Franck (Rava). Je suis ravi de retrouver la RSR, le team et Patrice après les 24 Heures. Ce sera la première fois que je piloterais avec Patrice, mais nous nous connaissons déjà très bien après la semaine du Mans. Je ne connais pas encore le tracé du Red Bull Ring, j'ai déjà hâte d'y être. "

Franck Rava ■ : " Ce n'est pas toujours facile pour une équipe et un pilote de faire une pige dans la saison. C'est pour cela qu'il était important de trouver des remplaçants à Wolf qui connaissent déjà le team comme Patrick à Imola ou Jean-Karl pour cette manche du Red Bull Ring. Jean-Karl découvrira la RSR dans sa version 2011, mais c'est une voiture avec laquelle le team roule depuis bientôt trois saisons et dont nous maitrisons bien les réglages. En ELMS, les équipages sont très homogènes et rapides, mais nous aurons notre mot à dire comme nous avons pu le montrer à Imola."
