WSS ; Cluzel renoue avec la victoire au Portugal / Portimao WSS win goes to Cluzel after last lap pass

Le Français s’est imposé sur Kenan Sofuoglu dans le dernier tour à Portimao.

Jules Cluzel (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) a réussi à mettre fin à la domination de Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing), vainqueur des quatre épreuves précédentes, en s’imposant sur le Turc dans le tout dernier des 18 tours de la septième manche du Championnat du Monde Supersport 2015 à l’Autodromo Internacional do Algarve.

Auteur de la pole position, le Français s’est de nouveau retrouvé dans un duel au coude à coude avec le triple Champion du Monde et a eu le dernier mot suite à un superbe dépassement dans le dernier tour. Grâce à cette victoire, sa deuxième cette année après celle qu’il avait remportée en Australie, lors de la première manche, Cluzel reprend cinq points à Sofuoglu et revient à quarante longueurs de son rival dans la course au titre 2015, avec encore cinq courses devant lui.

Passé en tête en début d’épreuve, PJ Jacobsen a pris la troisième place pour sa première course avec CORE Motorsport Thailand mais a fini à plus de sept secondes de Cluzel. 

Gino Rea (CIA Landlords Insurance Honda) a quant à lui manqué le podium de 0.7s et a fini quatrième devant Lorenzo Zanetti (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) et Kyle Smith (Pata Honda World Supersport Team).

Christian Gamarino (Team GO Eleven), Roberto Rolfo (Lorini Honda), Martin Cardenas (CIA Landlords Insurance Honda) et Fabio Menghi (VFT Racing) complétaient le Top 10 à l’arrivée tandis que le Portugais Miguel Praia, qui remplaçait Kieran Clarke chez CIA Landlords Insurance Honda, a pris le point de la quinzième place.

Jules Cluzel (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) won this afternoon’s World Supersport race withstanding incredible pressure from championship leader Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing,  who found himself in fifth on lap one, before slowly making his way forward and overtaking the Frenchman on tour number twelve.

The Frenchman retook the lead at the start of the last lap as the two riders exchanged position twice again, before Cluzel pulled away to win by 0.184s. This is Cluzel’s win number nine in the series, his second in 2015 after the one taken in the opening round at Phillip Island. With seven events completed out of twelve, the MV Agusta rider is now 40 points shy of the lead.

PJ Jacobsen backed up his strong debut qualifying performance with his new team (CORE’’ Motorsport Thailand Honda) to take the final place on the podium. The American was in contention for the lead in the early stages before gradually losing ground from lap 8 onwards.

Gino Rea (CIA Landlords Insurance Honda) missed out on the podium by 0.7s taking fourth ahead of Lorenzo Zanetti (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) and Kyle Smith (Pata Honda World Supersport Team).

Christian Gamarino (Team GO Eleven), Roberto Rolfo (Lorini Honda), Martin Cardenas (CIA Landlords Insurance Honda) and Fabio Menghi (VFT Racing) completed the top ten.

The road to Le Mans: Porsche Team Manthey

Aux 24 Heures du Mans 2015, Michelin est partenaire de 20 teams que nous présentons jusqu’au début de la semaine mancelle. Battues par les Ferrari l’an passé, les Porsche 911 RSR du Team Manthey veulent leur revanche en LM GTE Pro.

Avec 64 années de présence ininterrompue et plus de 750 voitures engagées aux 24 Heures du Mans, Porsche est incontestablement le constructeur le plus fidèle de la course mancelle.

Après ses 16 victoires et son retrait officiel en 1998, Porsche a continué d’être représenté – de gagner - dans la Sarthe via des teams privés en catégories GT et LM P2.

En 2013, c’est d’ailleurs via la catégorie LM GTE Pro et deux Porsche 911 RSR que Porsche était officiellement de retour en Championnat du monde d’Endurance et aux 24 Heures du Mans, avant de lancer son programme LM P1 en 2014.

Ce programme GTE fut initié par Porsche AG et exploité par l’équipe allemande Manthey Racing fondée en 1996 par l’ancien pilote Olaf Manthey. Après des débuts en Carrera Cup Allemagne et Porsche Supercup (4 victoires), Manthey Racing a représenté la marque Porsche dans diverses séries : championnat VLN, 24 Heures du Nürburgring (5 victoires), International GT Open, 24 Heures de Spa et 24 Heures du Mans en 1999 avec la victoire en GT.

En 2013, pour son retour dans la Sarthe, Porsche AG Team Manthey a signé le doublé en catégorie LM GTE Pro avec les nouvelles 911 RSR, avant de terminer 3^e du championnat LM GTE Teams en fin de saison. Porsche AG a pris 51% des parts de Manthey Racing.

L’an passé, parallèlement à son programme LM P1, Porsche a maintenu son engagement officiel en GTE, toujours en collaboration avec Manthey. Les 911 RSR ont été battues par Ferrari au Mans et au championnat du monde. On attend donc la revanche cette année.

We are counting down the days to the 2015 Le Mans 24 Hours by presenting each of Michelin’s partner teams at this year’s race. After its defeat to Ferrari in 2014, Team Manthey is out for revenge in LM GTE Pro with its Porsche 911 RSRs.

Thanks to an uninterrupted presence at Le Mans that dates back 64 years, and which represents the entry of more than 750 cars, Porsche is indubitably the most loyal manufacturer to the French 24-hour classic.

Despite its withdrawal from the race in 1998 after securing 16 victories, the German make continued to compete – successfully – in association with privateer partner teams in the GT and LM P2 classes.

In 2013, Porsche’s return to Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship took the form of two 911 RSRs in the LM GTE Pro class, ahead of the launch of its LM P1 programme the following season.

The Porsche AG-initiated GTE programme used the services of the German outfit Manthey Racing which was founded in 1996 by ex-driver Olaf Manthey. The team made its debut in the German Carrera Cup and Porsche Supercup (four wins) before it was given responsibility for representing the marque in competitions like the VLN series, the Nürburgring 24 Hours (five wins), the International GT Open, the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and the Le Mans 24 Hours where it claimed the GT spoils in 1999.

Porsche AG Team Manthey celebrated its return to the race in 2013 with a one-two finish in LM GTE Pro with the new 911 RSR before clinching bronze in the LM GTE Teams’ FIA WEC standings. Porsche AG has a 51 percent stake in Manthey Racing.

Last year, in addition to its LM P1 programme, Porsche continued to race in the GTE class through Manthey. Its 911 RSRs were thwarted by Ferrari at Le Mans, as well as at world championship level, so this time a desire for revenge is in the air…

However, the Little Griddle watch uses the ‘Grill Bezel’ to set optimum cooking time, whether for a simple hamburger or a delicious salmon fillet.

The procedure is simple: place the meat on a pre-heated grill, rotate the bezel anti-clockwise until the silver marker for the desired delicacy is aligned with the minute hand. When it reaches the red marker, it’s either time to turn the meat, or to remove it and tuck in. Rallye Açores 2015 ERC, SATA Rallye Açores : Hat-trick pour Breen

L’Irlandais Craig Breen (Peugeot 208 T16/Michelin) a remporté sa troisième victoire consécutive en Championnat d’Europe des Rallyes FIA 2015 et conforte sa première place au classement Pilotes. Kajetanowicz et Moura (Ford) complètent le podium du 50e SATA Rallye Açores.

Le match Breen/Kajetanowicz a tenu toutes ses promesses sur les pistes en terre de l’île Sao Miguel qui accueillait la 50^e édition du SATA Rallye Açores (4^e manche FIA ERC). A l’issue de l’ES12 sur 17, le pilote polonais avait repris la tête pour 5/10^e de seconde !

Le rallye a basculé dans la spéciale suivante, l’ES13, quand Kajetan Kajetanowicz a perdu le contact avec son rival après un choix de pneus trop « hard ». Au volant de sa Peugeot 208 T16 chaussée de pneumatiques Michelin PZ80 à structure « soft », l’Irlandais Craig Breen a donc pris un avantage décisif.

Le pilote de la Peugeot Rally Academy a remporté sa troisième victoire consécutive après le Rally Liepaja en février et le Circuit of Ireland en avril dernier. Deuxième à 1min02s1, Kajetanowicz devance les Portugais Ricardo Moura (Ford/Michelin), septuple champion des Açores, et Bruno Magalhaes (Peugeot 206 T16).

Le Français Robert Consani, qui étrennait sa DS3 R5 sur la terre, termine dans le top-5. Chez les Juniors, le Britannique Chris Ingram (Peugeot 208 R2/Michelin) a remporté sa première victoire de la saison devant Diogo Gago et Steve Rockland qui assurent le triplé à Peugeot/Michelin. Des problèmes de boîte à vitesses ont retardé le leader du championnat Emil Bergqvist (Opel Adam).

La prochaine manche FIA ERC se déroulera sur les petites routes des Flandres avec le Rallye d’Ypres (25/27 juin). A domicile, Freddy Loix visera une 10^e victoire au volant de la nouvelle Skoda Fabia R5/Michelin.
