The ADAC Rallye Deutschland counts towards all of rallying’s 2013 FIA world championships, namely the WRC, WRC-2, WRC-3 and Junior WRC. It is also a round of the Citroën R1 Trophy and the ADAC Opel Rallye Cup, not to mention the parallel national and historic rallies that have also been organised!

We are sure most our visitors are already familiar with the principal stars who will be in action in Germany. They probably know, too, that Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia can theoretically sew up the world title this weekend and that Volkswagen Motorsport is making its first home appearance.
Meanwhile, Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari continues to top the WRC-2 standings, although he will be absent from this week’s event. That could enable Robert Kubica (Citroën DS3 RRC) to close the gap. The Pole competed on asphalt last May in Corsica (ERC) and has won the last two WRC-2 rounds.
The Citroën driver will face competition from the drivers of the new Ford Fiesta R5 which is making its WRC asphalt debut in the hands of Rashid Al-Ketbi, Eyvind Brynildsen, Efyn Evans, Subhan Aksa, Robert Barrable and Karl Kruuda. Ukraine’s Yuriy Protasov (4th) will be driving the same car, but not as a registered WRC-2 competitor. Armin Kremer will have a Fiesta RRC and is also expected to go well, as are Skoda Fabia S2000 runners Sepp Wiegand and Hayden Paddon. The non-registered German Mark Wallenvein (Fabia S2000) could be strong, too.
Peru’s Nicolas Fuchs has already made sure of the Production Cup (subject to confirmation by the FIA) and will not be in Trier. That will therefore leave Venezuela’s Carlos Garcia and Italian Marco Vallario (both Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X) to fight local specialists Gassner Senior and Junior. The latter leads the German championship.
In the WRC-3, which is pretty much the same thing as the Citroën Top Driver series, Irishman Keith Cronin tops the order after his win in Finland. However, there is likely to be a big fight between the class’s numerous asphalt specialists. On home soil, Christian Riedmann stands out as favourite, but he will no doubt face opposition from Sébastien Chardonnet, Quentin Gilbert and Simone Campedelli. Stéphane Consani, Alastair Fisher and Francesco Parli have all withdrawn their entries, but Abu Dhabi’s Mohammed Al-Mutawaa will be making his world class debut after winning Citroën’s selection process in the Middle East.
Rallye Deutschland marks the beginning of the second half of the 2013 Junior WRC. Swede Pontus Tidemand has a 29-point advantage over José Suarez, while Sander Parn and Andreas Amberg (withdrawn) trail by 34 and 35 points respectively. The Spaniard is quick on asphalt and could use the visits to Germany and France to reduce his deficit. Others to watch are Switzerland’s Mickael Burri and Estonian debutant Peter-Jan-Michiel Cracco.
Last but not least, the entry list features some 10 Citroën DS3 R1 runners and 24 competitors in the ADAC Opel Rallye Cup which is led by Markus Fahmer after four rounds.

On sait que Sébastien Ogier et Julien Ingrassia peuvent être sacrés ce week-end et que, à domicile, Volkswagen pourrait augmenter son avance au championnat Constructeurs qui est de 55 points sur le tenant du titre Citroën.
En WRC-2, Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari est toujours leader de la série, mais il sera absent en Allemagne, laissant l’opportunité pour Robert Kubica (Citroën DS3 RRC) de se rapprocher de la première place. Le Polonais va retrouver l’asphalte depuis le Tour de Corse (ERC) et reste sur deux succès d’affilée en WRC-2.

En Junior WRC, le Rallye d’Allemagne ouvre la seconde moitié de saison. Le Suédois Pontus Tidemand est leader avec une belle avance de 29 points sur José Suarez, 34 sur Sander Parn et 35 sur Andreas Amberg (forfait). L’Espagnol est un spécialiste de l’asphalte et pourrait donc profiter de l’ADAC Rallye Deutschland et du Rallye de France pour refaire son retard. A suivre aussi le Suisse Mickael Burri et les débuts de l’Estonien Peter-Jan-Michiel Cracco.
Une dizaine de Citroën DS3 R1 sont engagées et 24 concurrents en ADAC Opel Rallye Cup, un championnat dominé par Markus Fahmer après quatre épreuves.
