TRIUMPH BONNEVILLE CUSTOM BY TON UP GARAGE

The modern Triumph Bonneville, released in 2001 to much critical acclaim, is based on the original Bonneville from 1959. Both bikes use a parallel twin, four-stroke engine and a healthy dose of classic motorcycle styling – that said, the new Bonneville is a totally redesigned bike built with 50 years worth of engineering experience, the newer versions have fuel injection and have become well-known for their reliability – not something that could ever be said for the originals.
This combination of classic, air-cooled styling and modern engineering has been a huge boon to the custom motorcycle community who now have a reliable, modern, British motorcycle to use as a starting point. We’ve seen some fantastic examples over the last few years on Silodrome, one of the stand-out Triumph builders is Ton Up Garage based out of Portugal who have quickly developed a reputation as one of the pre-eminent custom Triumph builders in the world.

This is the latest creation from Daniel and Pedro at Ton Up, it was a customer order from France for a guy who saw some of the team’s previous work. This new bike has all the hallmarks of a Ton Up build, the fit and finish is exceedingly professional, to the point where it now looks like an official production motorcycle.
During the build the engine was coloured black with a special high-temperature paint, the stock exhaust was kept and wrapped in brown heat wrap, a custom brown leather Ton Up leather seat has been fitted, a small black and copper headlight with a yellow lens was added and all indicators were replaced with low profile LED units.
The front and rear suspension has been replaced with new, higher performance Öhlins springs and a subtle brown and black paint scheme was added to the tank, fenders and crankcase. The finished bike has already been delivered to its very happy French owner and Ton Up are now taking orders for late 2013 and early 2014 delivery, if you’d like to see more of their work or order your own you can visit Ton Up Garage here.

HONDA CB750 CAFE BUILD – IRON BY MOTOCICLETTE CHEMICAL GARAGE

Motociclette Chemical Garage have created this gorgeous Honda CB750 Cafe Build called Iron. It’s a cool name for a wicked looking steampunk inspired build. You can see this fitting into a good old fashioned smelting plant with iron sparks firing everywhere. The craftsmanship that has gone into this build is unbelievable. With cooper ascent parts and raw polished naked metal on show gives the full story and proves all the hard work that gone into this.
The fairing is gorgeous, finely crafted by the guy’s at Motociclette Chemical Garage. I love the copper edging around the front light and also the triangle the starts the flow of the bike. This has a classic vintage look of the old Triton cafe racers, I love fairings at the moment they really do bring a bike together and set them apart from over bikes on the road. The fact that this bike hasn’t been painted or polished is perfect it shows of all the small details and all the effort put in by these guys to hand build each part. It’s one sweet looking machine.
The tank is simply stunning, with an old school vintage cap complete with leather strap to keep things down when your flying. It sits on even more copper which really brings out the tank cap not to mention looking amazing. I like the fact that the finish isn’t perfect, it makes it much more honest and certainly far more desirable to own and ride. It’s a piece of automotive art that belongs in a gallery but you;d just want to ride it whenever you got the chance.
Motociclette Chemical Garage is a new garage in the heart of Romagna, Italy.

1936 FORD 5 WINDOW COUPE BY HALES SPEED SHOP

Yet another bad ass production from Hale’s Speed Shop, a 1936 Ford 5 Window Coupe dropped lower than an F1 car. Hale’s Shop have a certain style that only they can pull off and it’s brilliant. You can just tell that mechanically these cars are perfect with new chassis’s and modern brakes, suspension and exhausts system being fitted. Externally they car’s don’t need to be perfect, the rear of the Ford still shows how far the rust got before the dealt with it. I like that it’s a very honest look, they don’t go the for perfect car show finish and I’m glad they don’t as I think this is there finest work to date.
With a true hot rod exposed engine the LSX engine looks fantastic, I bet thing thing packs a huge punch due to the fact that it’s been fitted with a turbo. The engine always have a lot of attention lavished upon them, all black with the usual silver but it really fits the Ford well. The side exit exhausts look amazing and give the car an even more aggressive look than it already had. The air suspension makes this thing drop so close to the ground you couldn’t get a cigarette paper under it.
Apparently the 1936 Ford 5 Window Coupe belongs to TJ from Hale’s Speed Shop. They said “It seemed like yesterday we were picking this car up in Missouri and bringing it back down to the shop, that was 4 years ago, now this car a turbo’d LSX and has a new chassis, and is his daily driver. I haven’t taken pictures of this car in a while, until now.” This is one of the things that sets this garage apart from the rest is the quality and style of the photography.
