The II. Balkan Rally successfully finished! This year's event, which ran over six days and was split into five timed legs, started from the iconic Hotel Budapest on the morning of September 10th.
This year, nearly 100 people completed the rally, with 32 cars and 5 motorbikes competing for the winner's title. The race through dazzling landscapes ended again in the picturesque Bay of Kotor, in the prestigious harbour of Herceg Novi.
At the starline never-before-seen specialities were lined up, such as the 1964 Porsche 356 C and the 1959 Austin Healey Sprite MK1. This year's race also attracted a large international contingent, with English, American, Austrian, Israeli and French drivers joining the field alongside the local entrants.
The overall winners of the race were Sándor Tabányi and Márk Tabányi with almost perfect scores, their car, a 1964 'Pagoda' 230 SL Mercedes-Benz, completed the nearly 1300 km distance without any problems. The winning team lost only 5 minutes during the 32 hours of timed driving, also solving the logic problems that revealed the time limits without any mistakes. In the motorcycle category, Dr. Gergő Nagy was awarded the laurel wreath and the grand prize.
